I previously had the 2024 version of the 98" QM8 TV until lightning knocked out just about everything we had in our house last May. Ordered the 98QM8K as soon as I saw it available for order in June and it was delivered in July. TV was great until Christmas day. The right side of the TV is now slightly dimmer than the left side. The difference is slight, but sharp. Very visible in person. Getting pictures to show it are difficult and also don't show the degree of the problem as much as in person does. Yet, once you see it, you can't unsee it. It's a clear difference. It's a sharp difference. It's always the right side dimmer than the left side.
Factory and power reset has been tried.
I've sent multiple pictures to TCL support only to be told my TV is functioning normal. Here is one (I hope the link works, can't figure out how to get pics to post here):

This is TCL's response:
"Upon reviewing them, we observed that the TV is operating normally. Please note that the TV automatically adjusts its picture settings based on the content currently being played. This means that brightness, contrast, color, and other display settings may change dynamically to optimize the viewing experience for each type of content.
These automatic adjustments are standard behavior and are designed to enhance the picture quality depending on the content source.
We hope this helps clarify the behavior you’re seeing. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out."
It's as though they refuse to see that it's always dimmer on the right side or are refusing to admit to seeing it at all.
I wish I had bought a different brand. Please don't buy TCL.

I am receiving this TV as a warranty replacement for a TV i bought a year ago that developed dirty screen effect lines. I will update this review once I received the Tv.

Size is what you’re buying here. Not picture quality. If you want good pic quality, go OLED.

A VERY costly Salesman's mistake

Because Best Buy salesman sold me the wrong mount for this TV they were unable to install. Because they wouldn't update my order to reflect this non-delivery, I could not reschedule delivery. So I canceled the order and re-ordered to enable delivery rescheduling. They wiped out $500 of gift cards attached to the first order because THEY messed it up. I bought the TV, they canceled the gift cards. They had GREAT difficulty setting delivery appointment and keeping it (3X's) and I got chiseled out of my rightful gift cards. It is my opinion they don't care about customers. Don't believe me, try phoning the store you bought a TV from. Better yet, try getting the phone number to the store you bought from. Calling the 800 number? They can't help. It is my opinion that they don't want to hear/see you after your credit card is accepted.

Don't buy from Best Buy

Please don't make the same mistake I did. Do not buy this TV or any other appliance from Best Buy. The complete lack of customer service alone is enough for me to never make another purchase from Best Buy. I bought this 98" TV and a Sonos Arc soundbar for our newly renovated basement. It was supposed to be the finishing touch on our project that we had spent months on. The "Free Mounting valued at $300" looked great on paper. Only to wait a month, be told I needed to reschedule the night before delivery, then be told I needed a different soundbar mount than the agent told me in the store, then be told I need to reschedule in another month once I buy that mount. At the end of the day I mounted the TV and soundbar myself and didn't receive a refund for any of it. I've spent hours on the phone and chat with customer service, they don't have any answers and don't care that I had a poor experience. I would've been happier spending more money through a different retailer just so I had confidence in the customer service. If something ever goes wrong, you're not getting any help from Best Buy.

Wish I could give it zero stars but that’s not how this works. Tv literally worked for one hour, tried to turn it on next morning would not come on. No lights on tv whatsoever. Still waiting on resolve 1 month later. Customer service is equal to there products GARBAGE

Got this while it was on sale, the install was done terribly the tv itself makes loud buzzing sounds the pictures are all blown out. Tcl quality has gone down the toilet. Returning

Never Recieved. You did not make delivery.. after complaining you decided to just is our money back. The worse customer service I've ever recieved.
