It took a while for this game to come out and it shows. While the graphics, sound design and story are all great, the controls and AI feel outdated. I found myself fighting the camera and struggling to control my character's jerky movements. Also, Trico (your companion) is very slow to respond to commands and makes navigating puzzle rooms difficult. The world is huge and beautiful (you will find yourself taking a lot of screenshots) and the music is perfectly composed for it. Overall, this game is still worth the time for its storytelling and refreshing atmosphere.

Love games like ICO and shadows of the colossus from Fumito Ueda. The games tell a great story with minimal dialog. The games are beautiful and fun to play. There are lots of puzzles but controls can be frustrating at time. Still worth playing.

Story is amazing, graphics are good but controls and camera are a little bit on the bad side. If you love a good story and puzzles, this is the game for you.

This game certainly isn't for everyone. Its buggy, glitchy, the camera sucks, the controls are clunky, Trico doesn't cooperate half the time. But despite all that I can't help but love it. Trico is a creature unlike any other in video games and I grew attached to him throughout the story. The visuals are surprisingly pretty and the music is lovely. I really recommend this game to people who love good old adventures and can handle some flaws.

Its a great game but AI, controls and camera will frustrate you. Not a single one of them are reliable and it really takes you out of the game when you're fighting to accomplish the simplest tasks. Other than that, the world and story is about what you'd expect from Team ICO. Worth the wait but I would've waited longer for polish if it meant they'd fix the issues I mention above.

I still remember when this first debuted at E3. It looked like such a fantastic game, and everyone was pretty excited for it. Fast forward a couple years, and it looked as though this game would never be getting out of development. Well, it's finally here! Unfortunately, all that time seems to have aged this game tremendously. It's still good-looking, but I don't think it'll ever look as good as it did back in 2009. Nevertheless, it's worth playing just to see how Trico (the giant bird-cat-thing) reacts to you and the world, although it hurts me every time Trico gets hurt. Also, controls are definitely wonky. It's a bit frustrating, but you get past it. Would not recommend playing this game in one long sitting - it's best to break it up to avoid getting into that rut where you become annoyed by the controls.

Vaporware (games in limbo that almost seem like they never will come out) have a bad, bad tendency to be..well bad Last Guardian fortunately bucks that trend and is solid The biggest criticism you'll here from everyone is the bad camera angles and at times frustrating controls, but for the every time you want to throw your controller, you'll have two moments of joy The AI of Trico (the weird bird dog hybrid creature) is incredible. The game has a strong sense of symbolism and beauty. If you have played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus then you already know what to expect If you can overcome its shortcomings, you'll have a wonderful experience in this light platformer with puzzles

This game can suffer from some awkward camera angles and low frame rate counts, but the story is quite enchanting and delivered with an almost movie like quality. The game carries a feeling of an epic lore and takes it's time to developing those qualities.

The last guardian is a game we have all been waiting a long time to play and boy was it worth the wait. Where it falls short is the camera angles and controls but that being said the last guardian is a great game with an amazing story. The relationship that develops between the characters is so heart felt and touching that it's almost as though your developing a real life relationship. I'm my opinion one of the best games this generation to make you feel for a character

This is another great release from the makers of Shadow of the Colossus and Ico. If you enjoyed those two games, this should be a no brainer to pick up. However, while the overall story was moving, you are taken out of the immersion a bit by some slightly awkward camera angles and also the difficulty in trying to position and move around your animal companion. Still a very worthy game that I thoroughly enjoyed.

If your a fan of Shadow of the Colossus or Ueda's games, you will find similar game play and the environment fits into the story. It's not a difficult game, but more of just playing to enjoy the journey of the boy and Trico as they find their way out of the environment. The game play consist of solving puzzles as in altering and navigating through the environment. A PS4 exclusive game.

Long in the making, I found this game fun, and challenging in a thoughtful way. The graphics range from really good to not very good / obvious ps3 ported assets. and the frame rate is not great some of the time. Shortcomings aside it has an excellent story and I recommend it, to people with a little patience.

I have waited many years for the opportunity to play The Last Guardian. For years the project was shelved, and with no real release date. When one was tentative, it would be pushed back. So when the game finally did released I was thrilled and eager to play it and finally get to see this in-game world I had so anticipated. I can say that the game is beautiful, and it has a really enchanting aesthetic to it, but it is not as expansive and full of exploration as games such as Shadow of the Colossus. I expected to have more in-game freedom and more of an open world gameplay, but much of the game is spent trying to figure one's way out of this temple. Just when I think I had made it outdoors, I soon found myself again inside a temple while evading stone samurai that tried to drag me through blue doors, meanwhile Trico battles them off, or I had to figure out a way to evade them while freeing Trico so he could. I felt like the game was so bittersweet and somber. Even the narrative is reminiscent. While I feel the game is absolutely worth while to play, I also believe it was not everything I hoped it would be, especially after waiting so very long to finally get to play it.

This game started of as slowly becoming the Duke Nukem Forever joke about it never being released. No spoilers but it is the love child of Ico and The Shadow of the Colossus. It's a platformer with a good story that people can follow and enjoy. If you liked or really loved the previous two games mentioned this one will not disappoint.

PRO: The animation and design are beautiful. An absolutely gorgeous game with some interesting puzzles. CONS: The controls are absolutely awful! I'm not sure who decided to throw decades of standard controls out the window and completely upend the scheme, but he (or she) should be out of a job.

If you're reading about this game, you're likely familiar with Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. For those of you in that category, this game is kind of a combination of those two games, gameplay wise. You interact with a large creature that you can climb on, while also finding ways to lead that creature to new areas. The Last Guardian was in development for 10 years, and now that it's here, it's a really great game that's a lot of fun to play. The downside is that the camera control is not great (although it's better after being patched), and it takes some time to get used to how the AI of Trico, the creature that you adventure with, works. My recommendation to new players is to be sure to fully read the online manual before playing so you'll know how to properly command Trico. Most complaints seem to come from people who didn't read the manual or figure out how to properly issue commands. If not for the sometimes difficult camera control, and the occasionally unresponsive AI of Trico, this would be a 5 star game for me. With those issues, it's still a game worth playing and I'd recommend it, especially for Ico and Colossus fans.
