I can’t not say enough good things about adding these boots into my half marathon recovery routine. I currently run 3 days a week, lift 4 days a week, and cycle once a week. I am also looking to maybe add in swimming and reduce a day of running. These boots have been a religious post workout recovery activity while winding down for the night. I appreciate the levels of intensity, ease of use, portability, and weight of the product. I can not complain about anything other than the price but you truly get such a quality product and it’s well worth the price tag. Between the Theragun Mini, the wave roller, and these boots… I must say these take the cake and I own all 3!

My older legs appreciate these after ice hockey

Seems more and more people are talking about compression boots, so I was really looking forward to finally trying them out with these Therabody Jetboots Prime, and for multiple reasons. Both recovery for myself as well as for helping with overall circulation for both my wife and I. I got the medium, or regular size and they fit both me and my wife perfectly. For reference, I'm 6'2" and she's 5'10".
Let's talk about recovery first as that's where I believe these boots are most beneficial. I play recreational ice hockey, which obviously involves a lot of skating, and thus, uses pretty much all of my leg muscles. I'm also not young anymore and in my late 40's, so after a hard skate my legs feel it. I will say that these boots feel absolutely AMAZING on sore legs. Recently I had an outdoor event that had me running around on my feet in hot weather for over 8 hours straight. To say I was exhausted is an understatement, and having used these boots for several days at that point, I honestly could not wait to slip these boots on and let them do their thing. It was practically instant relief.
There are really three parts of the recovery to talk about here when using the Jetboots. First is while they're actively working. The compression and the stages of how the boots air up is basically akin to getting a massage. As already mentioned, you feel an instant relief, and I especially find it very relaxing and calming. Next, is immediately after using the Jetboots. Getting up and out of them, my legs feel relaxed and not as tight. Finally comes the following day, or morning after. I can't say I notice a huge difference, but as I've been skating for quite a while now, I don't usually experience much soreness the day after like I did when I first got back into it. That said, as it was immediately after use, I could still tell that my legs just felt a bit looser, and almost no soreness at all.
I do also believe this isn't something you can just use once and immediately feel the effects, except for that instant relief I was talking about. This is something that I think becomes more beneficial the more you use it. For me, I use it almost every day, even though I'm only on the ice 2 days a week usually. It's actually something I look forward to everyday though too, because who doesn't like getting a massage? Besides recovery, I feel like it helps keep my legs loose and ready for the next time I step onto the ice. I can't say how much of that is psychological and how much is physical, but I'd bet there's a little bit of both, and either way, it gives just a little bit of a boost in confidence.
Recovery and sports isn't the only time to use these boots though. As I said, my wife is also using these even though she doesn't participate in any sports. She has however, dealt with circulation issues in her legs as well as vericose veins. She used these every night as well right before I did. She couldn't quite pinpoint exactly how these boots were helping her, but she said they were helping her feel better nonetheless. It was enough that she still uses it and anytime she comes home after being on her feet for a while, she can't get these boots on fast enough.
Another great thing about these boots is the adjustability, while also keeping it simple. Really you set the pressure level from just 4 different options, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. You can set the timer also but there's an indefinite option and you can always pause/stop anytime you want. This makes it perfect to switch between users. For my wife, she sets it to 50% and says anything higher starts to squeeze too much and hurts. For me, I normally stay at 75%, which feels perfect.
These are also wireless so you can use them just about anywhere, and the carry bag it comes with is perfect to take on the road with you. As a family we often travel to theme parks, and I honestly can't wait to use these to see how they help after a full day of walking 12 or so miles all around the park. The portability makes that so much easier to do. As far as the battery life, between my wife using it at 50% and me at 75% for equal amounts of time, a full charge lasted 3 full hours of use. They're also easy to put on and remove, even by yourself.
If I had to find one bad thing, it would just be how bulky the battery/pump/controller is. Given what it does though, this is more nit-picky than anything else and given what all it does, is to almost be expected.
Overall I absolutely love these Jetboots and will continue to use them regularly and most especially after tough sessions on the ice.

Helps with Next Day Soreness, Could be Improved

I wouldn’t label myself a runner, as I don’t run as a hobby but for exercise. I usually run on a treadmill and do some rotating exercises to keep things new, but there is always one day I don’t look forward to. That is Leg Day. Honestly, I’m of the opinion that there isn’t any magic fix for exercise, just consistency and variety. Though my leg workouts usually leave me sore and stiff for a few days after. I’ve seen these Leg Compression boots before, but never had the chance to give them a try. So, I thought, might as well if it makes the next day any better, I’ll try anything.
Pros:
- Reduces leg soreness from exercise.
- Portable and wireless.
- Easy to use.
Cons:
- Limited Customization for Pressure and Time.
- Fit at crotch can be uncomfortable.
Unpacking:
Unpacking the JetBoots is easy, Therabody includes a travel drawstring bag to store and carry the jetboots in which has pockets for the included USB-C cable. The included cable is thankfully long enough to reach a wall charger from a desk, table, or bed. Chargin the device requires you to plug into the control unit and then into a charger, charging to full only takes a few hours but there is enough charge to run for 20 minutes initially.
Getting Into:
To use the JetBoots for the first time, you just must take them out of the drawstring bag and unfold them onto a flat surface such as a couch or bed. Getting into the legs is a little odd as it requires you to slide your legs in to each leg then position your legs to a comfortable spot before reaching down to zip the boots back up. Then you’re good to start treatment.
I found that sitting with my legs straight out without back support was not a relaxing position for any long duration. I added a pillow against the wall or chose to lay down, which greatly increased my comfort during the treatment. Though I did find the crotch area to be a bit uncomfortable when the boots filled with air. This was because the boots would pull down while filling with air, causing the edge of the boots to rub against the inner thigh and crotch, which depending on your position was either slightly or VERY uncomfortable. It took a little adjustment to find an optimal position after the first air filling cycle.
Ease of Use:
The JetBoots controls are very simple and straightforward with only 4 buttons: Power, Pressure, Time, and Start/Pause. The Power button requires you to push and hold to turn the device on or off, while the other 3 buttons require only a press. Both the Pressure and Time buttons have prefix settings that they cycle through. Pressure can go between 25 to 100 mmHg at 25mmHg steps. Run Time can be set to 20, 40, or 60 mins and Continuous. The Start/Pause will start or pause the treatment when pressed, allowing you to stop as needed.
Performance and Uses:
I usually run 2-3 miles on the treadmill 4-5 days a week with a 30min weight training rotation. For the weight training I combine dumbbells and body weight exercise sets. On days I didn’t focus on Legs, the JetBoots only made a small difference the next day where I’d notice while getting up to take the dog for a walk that I was less stiff in my legs. BUT oh man, the next day after I did my Leg workout, the difference was quite noticeable when going up and down stairs or even just walking.
After a hard Legs workout, that would usually leave me with the dreaded Leg-Day-After effect, I noticed that with the JetBoots the muscle fatigue and soreness that would usually impact my daily activities was mostly gone. It wasn’t enough for me to want to do back-to-back days of Legs, but I didn’t have my normal slow down on the stairs or stiffness getting out of bed in the morning. This alone was shocking and made me want to add JetBoots to the end of my routine for Leg Day. Even the small benefit gained from day-to-day use was enough for me to want to use JetBoots daily after a workout.
Additionally, if you have old leg injuries, JetBoots might help you reduce the soreness of the injury due to temperature and weather change. My girlfriend has a bad knee from an accident more than 10 years ago, which gets sore from time to time with weather changes. I had her give the JetBoots a try, and she proceeded to use it for the next 2 hours until she fell asleep. She said it didn’t exactly resolve the pain in her knee, but it did make her feel relaxed and the next day her knee was less sore. I’d suggest checking with your doctor first before trying the device for any kind of treatment, but I’m always open to any treatments that don’t involve taking more drugs for pain.
Suggested Improvement:
The one thing I would want to change about JetBoots would be the Pressure and Time controls. Instead of going with set thresholds of 25mmHg and 20mins, I would allow for smaller steps like 5mmHg/5mins and let the user cycle up or down through the same range. This came about because I found the 75mmHg setting was just a little too low on pressure for me, but when I stepped up to 100mmHg setting it was way too much. So much so, that I could feel some circulation cutting off during the peak of the air filling cycle. If I could set the pressure to 80-85 mmHg, that would have been just perfect.
Conclusion:
The JetBoots are very much for runners or workout enthusiasts, who are hindered in performance from the prior days leg workout. But even the average Joe could find quality of life benefits from adding JetBoots to a post workout routine, even on non-Leg Day workouts. The reduced soreness the next day was enough of a benefit to look forward to using the device again. Which for me was enough of a reason to keep using the JetBoots, even on the non-Leg Days. I’ll be recommending those who have issues with leg soreness to give JetBoots a trial run to see how they feel the next day. As I’m betting any active person will enjoy getting out of bed with even just a little less soreness.

I originally picked up this pair of regular size JetBoots for my wife. She’s 5’6” with a 30” inseam in pants. The size chart says these should be appropriate for an inseam between 29 and 34 inches so I thought that would be ok. They seem a bit long on her. It appears to be important that you’re able to get your foot fully into the foot chamber of the boot so it fits right when it inflates. I think it’s also important to note that I went by clothing measurements and I think you really need to use a measuring tape held loosely in your crotch down to your ankle bone to get the fit right like the diagram on the package shows. I’ll attach a picture of the diagram. Measuring my wife that way she’s a 28 which would put her in a small. So that was my mistake. I tried them on myself, I’m 6’4” and I wear a 34” inseam in dress pants, a 36” inseam in jeans, and I measure 32” from my crotch to my ankle bone measured loosely and these are right at the edge of being too long for me so the sizing on the package seems about right. The package states that if you’re in between sizes to pick the smaller size for the best fit. You don’t want the boots scrunched up in your crotch so shorter is better.
That being said, I have used them myself all this week so I could write this review. I found them easy to use, you just power them on, set the duration and the pressure you’d like, and tap the start button. If you need to stop for any reason, tapping pause deflates the boots. I was able to get six 40 minutes sessions from a full charge so the battery life appears to be adequate.
I will say these boots are HOT to wear. Even with the AC on, I need to run a fan when I’m using them. Luckily, they are easy to clean because they do get my legs sweaty. Probably be better when the weather cools off.
As long as they are on right, I do find them extremely relaxing to use and usually fall asleep while they run. They’re not very loud, I can watch TV while they run and don’t need to turn the volume up.
If I don’t get my feet in the boots correctly, it feels like it’s pressing in from both sides instead of the top and bottom and that’s not comfortable to me. If the zipper lines up on top of my foot like it shows in the instructions it’s usually correct. If it’s not comfortable I just tap the pause button during the first inflation cycle and the boots deflate so I can adjust them. Easy fix.
There are four chambers in each leg and the boot inflates the feet first, then the calves, then the lower thighs, then the upper thighs. Then the whole boot deflates and the cycle starts over. As the calf and then the lower thigh chambers reach their set pressure, I feel like my legs are being gently stretched, elongated. I’m 56 years old and my job has me on my feet 8+ hours a day now, and my legs are worn out by the end of the day. Before using this device, I was sore in the morning and my legs felt tight until I had been at work a couple hours. I use these boots at night after dinner and by the third morning I noticed that I wasn’t sore any more. My legs definitely feel more energetic. I’m actually surprised at how much better I feel.
They come with a 6.5 foot (2 meter) usb-c charge cord and a drawstring pouch to carry them. No charger is included, you can use the device while it is being charged if you use at least a 20 watt rated charger. Being wireless they can be used just about anywhere (they are NOT waterproof), and they don’t need any sort of app to work.
The pressure can be set to either 25, 50, 75, or 100 mm/Hg and the time can be to 20, 40, 60 minutes or continuous. I haven’t felt a need to go higher than 75 mm/Hg on the pressure myself and I usually set it to run 40 min.

Compact and Fantastic Recovery Tool

I am a long distance runner and I really appreciate good recovery methods. The long training runs when preparing for my next marathon or ultra marathon builds up lactic acid in my legs and recovery tech like the Jetboots Prime are just what is needed to get me ready for my next long run. These boots exceed any I’ve owned previously in multiple ways.
Design
-These boots are the best design I’ve experienced in so many ways. The biggest and best feature for me is that the boots are all one piece. My older boots (from a generic brand) had a separate power unit, each boot was separate, and there were about 8 feet of hoses to connect. Traveling was a pain because they took up so much more room. The Jetboots Prime, being all one piece, folds up so nicely and with such a small footprint that I feel like I can take them anywhere, even if I fly I should still have room. They even come with a little drawstring backpack!
-Another great design choice on the Jetboots is the USB-C charging port. My old ones had a proprietary charging port so I always had to have their specific charger. Almost every device I use can be charged with USB-C so this is a welcome choice since I always have a charger around that will work.
-These boots are also actually long enough for me. I’m not super tall or anything, right around 6’0”, but my old boots in the “Large” size would not go fully up my thighs, they were too short. I got the “regular” size of Jetboots Prime and they go all the way up my legs. This is crucial for me as I am usually most sore in my quads and hamstrings.
Features
-The battery charges pretty quickly and has lasted a while. I have almost two hours of use and they still show all three dots on the battery life indicator.
-It is really easy to get started too. There are only four buttons. One turns it on and off, one changes the pressure, one changes the length of time, and the fourth starts and stops the pump.
-There is only one type of treatment with the Jetboots Prime. It starts by reaching full compression in the feet and makes its way up to the upper thighs, holding pressure in each of the four zones as it goes. This gradual compression helps restore blood flow back to your leg more quickly to reduce lactic acid buildup.
Improvements?
There are only two things I would change if I could. First I would increase the maximum pressure. They go from 20 to 100 mmhg but I was used to a higher level of compression. I’m not sure it’s necessary but it did feel good at 120 or even 140. The other thing is the addition of a digital display with a timer countdown as my old ones have. Again, not necessarily a must-have but it would be nice.
Overall I am so happy with the Therabody Jetboots Prime. They take up much less space, are much more portable, and are very easy to use. I would happily recommend them to any runner, biker, or anyone else who often has tired, overworked legs.

I have a competitors model from a few years ago that has been great, but those are bulky by comparison to the Jetboots from Therabody. Seeing that this version has the battery, compressor, control unit built into a single area on one of the legs, which might not seem like a huge deal but it really does make a difference after awhile.
Aside from that big difference, the boots themselves are a slightly lighter, thinner, and more maneuverable material. This doesn't take away from the compression abilities one bit, but it's worth pointing out that you can move around a little bit and the Jetboots are easier to get on/off and position comfortably than the other set I have from the competitor.
I say this in case anyone reading this has tried a compression leg sleeve in the past and had any of the above reasons be a reason why they didn't stick with it, returned them, or have maybe just stopped using them. There have been times where this was the case for my other sleeves and it certainly kept me from using them as often as I would've liked, but since getting these Jetboots they're a regular part of my post-activity routine.
The controls and display have been streamlined to 4 buttons and duration/power level, respectively. You can set time to 20/40/60/"continuous" and the power ranges from 25-100 in 25mmHg increments. Unplugged I was able to do three 60 minute intervals at 100mmHg before I had to plug them back in to recharge. For comparison my older competitor model would get maybe 1 1/2 cycles at the full power.
Recommended for anyone that is active or wants to help ease leg pain in general as they've been extremely beneficial to me in the few weeks I've been using them.

Solid product to help relieving muscle fatigues

This is not my first Therabody device so I know what to expect from the brand. The Jetboots Prime has a great built quality and thoughtful design. It is easy to fold and light enough to carry it around. It’s also quite compact to be stored in a trunk when traveling. It comes in a different sizes so be sure to get the one that really fits the length of your leg.
This gadget is very useful for those who like to do outdoor activities and sports. There’s no cord to plug in or to connect, and it is completely cordless. Charging the device is very easy and it includes a USB-C cable. The battery can last up to three hours so you can use it for a full week without the need to charge the device. The included storage bag is very useful to store the device.
Using the device is easy and it’s ready to use in a minute, just unfold the device, slide it to your legs and it’s all ready to use. It works like your personal masseuse but be sure to read the manual before using it. I would suggest starting from the lowest amount of pressure in the setting, so you would know what to expect from the device. There’s a couple of settings to figure out with each setting targets different results. The manual will direct you to achieve the desired result. You can use the device to prime your muscle before doing competitive sports, use it to recover from physical activities on your lower body part or use it to simply massaging your leg.
My child who’s doing competitive sports in school also benefits from using the gadget because we're pretty much of the same physical built. Pneumatic compression has been widely used as a physical therapy device to increase blood flow and circulation, and to alleviate muscle fatigue. Pressure is applied to a number of different zones in the legs, and it works automatically.
There’s a setting that you can use for daily use of the device, and you can also control the duration. You can use it to massage your legs for 20, 40 minutes, one hour and even continuously while watching your favorite shows or playing mobile games. I use it to relieve muscle fatigues, and I can feel the difference after the session. The Jetboot Prime is another solid product from Therabody.
Like:
Powerful science-backed pneumatic pressure
Cordless and portable
Great overall quality
Long battery life
Don’t like:
Can’t think of any except that this product can only fit specific leg measurement. So, if you get regular size, it won’t be as much effective for other members of the family whose legs are longer or shorter.

My Nightly Relief!

As a nurse, I spend 10+ hours a day on my feet running around. This causes me to get home with swelling and soreness in my legs and feet. Before the JetBoots, I spent part of my night elevating my feet, stretching my legs, and using a massager gun to try to feel better, usually to little avail. Now that I have the JetBoots, all of those remedies are out the door. I put the boots on, sit and relax for a while, and get up with my legs feeling like they’re back to normal. The soreness and swelling are gone, and I can feel like the regular circulation flow has returned to my legs.
The boots come neatly bundled in a drawstring sack backpack, with the charging cable stored in a small pocket within the backpack is. The JetBoots include zippers to easily get the legs in and out, so it doesn’t have to be put on like pants. There are additional zippers that provide access to the tubes and wires that power the inflating mechanism. It also comes with a very handy manual that includes illustration.
The JetBoots work similar to a blood pressure cuff, it inflates to create compression sequentially, starting with the feet and working its way toward the upper thigh. The compression is divided into four sections, each inflates completely before moving to the next section, staying inflated until the whole leg is compressed. After this, the pants completely deflate, and the process starts all over.
There are four pressure settings to choose from, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. I was hesitant to try the 100% at first considering how compressed my legs felt at the lower settings, but it was actually incredibly helpful once I did, providing the most relief. There are also several time options: 20, 30, 60 minutes, or continuous.
Putting them on and sitting with them was not as uncomfortable as I imagined it would be. Lying down was even better though. My only two issues where I found discomfort were the groin area and the zippers. I think I may still have to work on placing it properly, but the gap at the top closes in as it inflates, causing me to have to shift to avoid pain. For reference, I am 5’9”, so I posit that perhaps I am putting them on higher than I am supposed to since I want to get as much of my thigh as possible and I still have extra room at the feet.
As for the zippers, it is the internal zipper seams that are the issue. They are thick and stiff and there is one on each side of the zipper. There are times that I can feel them pressing against my legs when the pants are fully compressed. The thing is that they are not always problematic, and I am not sure as to why sometimes they bother and at other times they don’t. It may come down to what I am wearing or how I put the pants on. There is no barrier between the zipper and the skin.
Surprisingly malleable, the JetBoots are very easy to fold up and store. They fit back into their sack with no issue, and I can take them anywhere I go. This is great because I go on regular road trips and the long hours sittings and driving affect my legs too and this will be a game changer for that.
Overall, I am beyond impressed with the JetBoots. Leg compression has become a nightly routine for me after work. Since I started using it, I have felt so much relief, not only in my legs, but also in the lower back pain that results from leg muscles soreness and stiffness. It hasn’t ceased to amaze me how, after a day of nonstop walking, my legs feel so good as soon as I get up from a session. I believe that I can eventually figure out the two discomfort issues. I benefit far more from this than anything I have tried to date, and I truly recommend this not only to athletes, but also to those who work long shifts on their feet.

As an amateur athlete, I discovered a few years ago the benefits of compression therapy. The downside has always been the setup and dismantling of the system after use, but this is not an issue with the Jetboots system! The Therabody Jetboots Prime system is not only lightweight and compact, it is also just as powerful and effective as my Therabody RecoveryAir Gen1 system! These also come out of the box ready to use IN their storage bag/backpack and are charged with USB-C. Setting up the system is just as easy as opening up the box, pulling the bag out of the box, sliding the boots out of the bag, slipping your legs into the boots, zipping them up, power them on, set the pressure, the time, and START! Now you're set to go! just sit back and enjoy the magic of compression therapy! The quick guide (as well as myself and experts) suggest starting at a low pressure and time, gradually working your way up as needed. A great thing about control system is that you can add more time and adjust the pressure while currently in a session. Once you're done, the boots deflate and can be stored conveniently back into the bag they come with until the next time you use them!
I have been absolutely loving them since they arrived, borrowed them out to some friends at my run club before a recent half marathon we all did and they loved them, they asked if they could use them after the race, too (obviously they could!) and they loved them even more for how incredible their post-race recovery has been going! I'd recommend them, they'd recommend them (and are likely getting their own pairs before they drop mine off tomorrow), and with how quiet they operate, the people around you will recommend them, too!

Fantastic Recovery and Warm Up Boots/Pants

I've been eyeing compression boots for some time now as I am a long distance runner looking for methods to recover quickly from my long runs. These boots are exactly what I needed. I use them for 20 minutes before my run at 25 mmHG and then at 75 mmHG for recovery for 40 minutes. I am on the shorter side of the size for these boots so they fit a little big but they work wonders. I tried no warm up with the compression boots and my legs felt heavy during my run. The next day I tried the warm up and I felt like a had more stamina and could keep going further than my predetermined distance for that day. Post recovery also works wonders. My legs don't feel 100% recovered but the recovery process is kicked into another gear so I'm ready for my workout the next morning. The only negative is that the charge only lasts a few uses so you're charging it quite often to be able to use often. Overall, these have been great as a runner and I'm looking forward to continuous use to see if adding this to my routine increases performance on race day.

BACKGROUND: I am a 73-year-old former runner who over the past 35 years have downgraded to jogger, and now walker averaging four miles per day about five days a week. Add to that is my yard work maintenance adding another five hours of somewhat strenuous labor per week. I recognize my body no longer recovers as quickly as it did many years ago and have been using devices to enhance my physical recovery.
To alleviate occasional leg cramps discomfort, I have been reactively using a Therabody Theragun PRO (5th Gen) that functions very well. In addition, I have been using proactively a competitor’s leg massager with compression and heat functionality. (That device actually belongs to my wife for her peripheral neuropathy.) When I was offered to demo this newly designed “Therabody JetBoots Prime”, I jumped at that opportunity.
SIZING: According to Therabody’s online material, this unit is designated “Regular” (medium) and is intended for individuals who are between 5-foot 6-inches to 6-foot tall. My height is in the middle of that range. Therefore, they should be sized correctly. Also, the box and manual information provides “Leg and Inseam” ranges that match my measurements.
UNCOMFORTABLE: The way this set of jet boots (I believe Therabody’s most economical offering) are designed is flawed in my opinion. The two independent legs are attached by way of heavy-duty material that surrounds and supports the air compression tubing from the primary right leg to the secondary left leg. Unlike Therabody’s other offerings, there is a single air compressor and controller mounted on the right leg. The problem I encountered with this design was the thick connecting material and tubing was jammed into my crotch in a very uncomfortable manner. No matter how I tried to reposition myself or the boot leg tops, the experience was unpleasantly unacceptable.
USE: I will admit once I got past the discomfort aspect of these JetBoots, they do preform as advertised with alternating leg compression and then release. The ability to select preset compression levels and assorted time duration are nice features. Plus, wirelessly designed with integrated rechargeable batteries, there is no power adapter cord to deal with while using. After use, and a somewhat lengthy self-deflation period, they will fold up for storage and/or travel transport in a fairly small provided bag.
INCLUDES: JetBoots, storage bag, a detailed and fully illustrated instruction manual and a USB-C charging cable. Note that you will need to provide your own charger.
RATING: Sadly, these Therabody JetBoots Prime earned themselves only a 3-Strar Rating primally due to the cost cutting uncomfortable design. Note that your personal experience may be completely different than mine, and these could be a more economical and suitable option for some buyers. But I can only recommend Therabody’s other compression boot offerings that have independent air compressors that eliminate the heavy-duty connecting material and embedding air tubing.

I got this JetBoot because I was told that I suffer from a mild restless leg syndrome that keeps me up at night. The other reason is that my legs often feels tight after I come home from work. So now, my routine is to slip this JetBoot on and sit front of my TV for about 20 minutes or so and relax. The sensation is pretty relaxing. In the short time that I have been using this, it has made a difference with my leg tightness but for my mild RLS, I guess I haven’t used it long enough to see any results. I must say it has shown positive signs though. It would have been nice to have a massage function, at least for the foot.
The material is made of nylon I’m guessing but whatever it is, it makes for easy cleaning and maintenance. It is supposed to be very hygienic. If you use it after a workout, be prepared to have a sweaty leg due to the lack of air circulation in the boot.
The control console consists of four navigation buttons (Power, Time, Pressure and Start/Pause/Stop). The screen has a battery, time and pressure indicator. It needs to have a timer to indicate how much time is left. I always had to wonder what time I started it, which was a small annoyance.
The initial Inflation takes just about 3 minutes. In between cycles it takes about 60secs for the lowest pressure setting and up to about 2 minutes for the higher settings. The inflation goes through a sequential cycle through four chambers and starts at the foot and goes up to the thigh area. Once all chambers have been inflated to the desired pressure setting, it pauses for a couple of seconds then deflates and starts inflating again. The chambers are overlapped so the same pressure is applied up your whole leg. To deflate it, you just leave it flat on a surface or massage the air out if you have to get up and go.

I have been using the Therabody RecoveryAir Pro consistently for a couple years. It’s one of the few pieces of equipment I actually recommend. With the pro, carrying around both independent boots with attached cables and control unit can be cumbersome on the move, especially when I’m using it for a pre-warmup.
The Jet Boots Prime has the advantage there. Compact and easy to store, they can be up and ready in half the time it takes to set-up the Pro. No wires or cables to connect or plug-in, just put on and turn on. In the photos, I compare the Prime with the Pro side-by-side for size comparison and portability.
When handling the Prime for the first few uses, it can be awkward since it is all one unit. The pump is attached to the right leg and the left leg is attached by a strip crossing the pelvis. So, when putting them on, I had to get used to the imbalance, but once adjusted, I was good to go.
The control panel is extremely easy to navigate. Four settings of pressure and four time limits. Pretty much all that’s necessary for warm-up/recovery. Easy to read and battery life has been excellent thus far. I did two 20-minute cycles and one 60-minute cycle and still had half a battery left.
The pressure is on par with the Pro. Often when something is touted as portable, you lose some power for the benefit of portability. Not here. Whether warming up or deep recovery, there is no shortness of pressure.
Another excellent bonus is the amount of time it takes to deflate. This was/is my biggest issue with the Pro. If you’re in a hurry, you have to half-do storing the boots as you manually have to squeeze excess air out to get the tightest roll possible. Once the Prime’s cycle is finished, I can roll them up in about a minute’s time. Very useful when I’m chomping at the bit to get back to business.
In terms of efficiency and usability. They work. They work well. Whether a brutal leg day or a good long run, after wearing theses before/after, my recovery is absolutely expedited. It is the difference between gradually loosening up in the motion to being ready to move right away. And the recovery, after a long day/ workout is like a masseuse on stand-by.
With a great balance of portability and power, I would absolutely recommend these to add to your regimen. And if you have a stationary pair (PRO), these will fill that on the go gap when traveling or needing to get done and packed up faster. Great addition.

It was hard to visualize what exactly the benefits of the Therabody JetBoots Prime would be without having seen anything like them in action before acquiring them for myself, but after one use I saw the appeal. I’m a delivery driver, and I put up over 7 miles per day in steps and climbing in and out of my truck making the stops happen, so I am always needing extra stretching and rest to keep myself in the game particularly as I age. The JetBoots have helped me a great deal already in keeping my legs feeling limber and recovered after my long daily routine. They do come with drawbacks in that they are a bit cumbersome to unroll and get situated in prior to use, and then being somewhat immobilized while they work requires a bit of patience. Thankfully, at least for me, they are worth it. My legs feel more relaxed and energized for my following workday than I have felt in years.
They are wonderfully simple, requiring only a charge to the built in battery from an included USB-C cable, and selection of a few settings on the controller. Power, start/pause, pressure level, and time are the 4 buttons with which to interact. I started with 20 min at 50mmHg to get the initial feel for what I was in for and have since tried longer sessions at higher pressure as well. The instructions recommend various combinations depending on the needs. It goes up and down in 20 min intervals up to a 60 min session and 25-100 mmHg in 25 mmHg intervals. I was very grateful to discover that they would be on a battery rather than having to find an outlet to plug into when in use, and that battery at full charge lasted four 40 min sessions at 50 mmHg before needing to be recharged again. The USB-C cable they include is long enough to reach at about 5 feet, but it does not include an AC adapter which is unfortunately part of the norm with tech these days. Once done, you carefully fold them up and can store them in the included bag, and for travel you can thankfully lock the controls so they don’t power up accidentally. They are relatively compact when stored in the bag as well, making the idea of taking them on the road palatable.
This sort of device is not for everyone, but if you live an active lifestyle be it for work or otherwise, and struggle with keeping your legs mobile and limber, this could really make a difference for you as it has for me.

Having had a different brand single leg version for recovery from a surgery a while back, this is a surprising upgrade in direct comparison. No cables, no attaching hoses or finding the main unit. This is literally like a heavy pair of pants that will force circulation through your feet and legs. Then on top of that, the level of sound on this small device is hard to believe compared to the amount of pressure you get. With these Jstboots set all the way to 100, you are certainly going to feel it and it is louder letting the air out than the amount of time it is pumping it in. I have used these in bed and on the recliner while watching videos without having to make any adjustments to audio.
As for storage and carrying, they are like a very heavily starched pair of pants with a small brick in the pocket. They are easy enough to fold away and put back into the carrying bag though. The inside is one surface, so it makes it really easy to wipe down if you were sweaty or just need to clean after so many uses. With a full battery charge you can get about 3 hours of use. Pending the time you use it for this could be 3 long sessions or several smaller ones.
I can really feel a difference in my legs after each use. Like it pushed some of the stiffness and pain out, making my legs actually feel somewhat lighter. The only thing I wish this had was a better timer on them. As it is now you can set it in 20 minute intervals and it ticks down from 60/40/20 as you do a long session, but there is no indication of how much time you have left in that last 20 minutes.
Overall, for a complete and fairly compact system, these are really impressive. Simple, wireless, and fairly quiet operation that makes a clear difference after use. It only comes confusing when I tell my friends I have Jetboots and they think I’ve gone space age.

Helps with lower body recovery

The Therabody Jetboots Prime are an interesting piece of recovery equipment for your lower body. There are 2 leg and foot sleeves that are attached together at the top. I slid my feet into the bottom foot area and then zipped the sleeves up my leg. I would recommend being somewhere that you can at least partially recline. I turned on the Jetboots and I could feel air filling the outer layer of the leg sleeves, starting with my feet and ankles and then working in sections all the way to the top. Once it felt all the way filled up, it would then deflate in the opposite direction. I could adjust the amount of pressure that I wanted to feel. The point seems to be to squeeze muscles and move blood up from the lower extremities. I used the Jetboots after some exercise and also after a day where I had to stand on my feet for quite some time. The sensation of the Jetboots filling with air I would most closely associate with the filling of an air pressure cuff on my arm, which could feel good to some people but could feel others with a sense of overpressure. But it has to fill to a certain amount of pressure to accomplish anything. So if you are a person that hates the feeling of being squeezed or not being able to move your legs much, I will give a word of caution. After the Jetboots fill and then start to deflate, there was a sense of my legs waking up after falling asleep. It was almost a tingling sensation, and my legs felt generally renewed. It is very quick to put on and take off. The leg sleeves roll up into a small bag for storage. I think it needs to be used a few times to be appreciated. The first time I used it, I wasn't sure there was much a difference. But after the second time, I felt like I noticed my legs feeling better. Now I look forward to using the Jetboots. There are different sizes of Jetboots depending on your leg measurements, so make sure to get the one that meets your leg length requirements. Overall, I would recommend the Jetboots to anyone that does a lot of standing on their feet or especially athletes that are looking to recover more quickly.
