    We purchased this drive to use as a back-up drive for a MacBook Pro (Time machine). It was ready to go right out of the box, just plug it into a ISB port and done! There was no need to format the device, the MacBook ran without any problems and everything was backed up as expected... Easy to use, small, and portable, which allows for easy storage.
