I had issues with my garage camera due to the wifi not reaching, bought this little extender abd bow i have no issues. Definitely recommend. Only con is that while it does work as an extender it makes you set up the wifi as another wifi profile

Been working well. Disconnects sometimes but I don’t know if it’s from this unit or the original Wi-Fi router. Adds a good amount of range.

This is one of those things that sits in an outlet and you do not have to think about it. It extends the Wi-Fi in our home from the first floor to the second. Great product.

    Extender

The WiFi extender in question stands out as one of the most disappointing products on the market. With an array of issues that make it nearly unusable, this device fails to meet even the most basic expectations for performance and reliability. 1. Connection Issues The most glaring problem is the device’s inability to maintain a stable connection. Users often experience constant drops and weak signal strength, defeating the purpose of having an extender. Instead of boosting the network as promised, it frequently slows down the internet speed, leading to frustration during streaming, gaming, or even simple browsing. 2. Setup Frustrations The setup process is unnecessarily complicated and poorly explained in the included instructions. Even when following the steps provided, many users encounter errors or repeated failures to connect the device properly. This makes it especially problematic for those who aren’t tech-savvy, turning a straightforward installation into an hours-long ordeal. 3. Range and Effectiveness Despite claims of wide coverage, the actual range extension is minimal. In many cases, the WiFi extender barely increases the signal beyond the room in which it is placed. This limited range renders it ineffective for larger homes or any situation where significant coverage is needed. 4. Build Quality and Reliability The product itself feels cheaply made, with flimsy construction that doesn’t inspire confidence in its durability. It’s prone to overheating, which further degrades its performance over time. Many users report having to reset or unplug the device frequently to regain even a temporary connection. 5. User Experience Overall, using this WiFi extender is more trouble than it’s worth. Its unreliable performance, difficult setup, poor range, and questionable build quality make it one of the worst tech products available. Rather than solving connectivity problems, it often creates new ones, leading to a frustrating experience that isn’t worth the investment. Final Verdict: With only a 10% performance rating, this WiFi extender is best avoided. Users are better off investing in a more reliable solution, such as a mesh WiFi system or a higher-quality extender from a reputable brand.

      Hi Chupoppy420,

Thank you for sharing your experience with our RE505X Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender. If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

We also recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

      Thank you,
      TP-Link Support tplink

The TP-Link Range Extender was a replacement for a similar device ... from a different company ... that had died. This device not only works better than it's predecessor ever did; it is much more compact. I recommend it.

The TP-Link RE505X is a great way of getting a cabled connection to a smart TV that the wi-fi has died on. It works great with Ring products as an extender.

I’m in shock. I honestly had horrible Wi-Fi in the upstairs portion of my home and struggled with it for years. This extender honestly did the trick. KEEP IN MIND THAT IT DOESNT WORK IMMEDIATELY. Give it a day or so to really pick up the signal and the results are amazing. Definitely recommend!
