    Great scanner!

I'm sure if I was some kind of professional photographer this scanner would not suffice but all I am is an aspiring artist wanting to scan in my lined sketches into my computer for re-drawing and/or painting. And this scanner does the job good enough for me. The only downside I see is that the scanner area is somewhat limited. Can't scan anything much bigger than a normal sized sketchbook page. But that is a very small complaint

    NOT Windows 7 Compatible

Echo the previous reviewer. This is advertised as being Windows 7 64-bit compatible but it is NOT. Didn't work straight out of the box, and on a new laptop with no other previous scanners, printers, etc. to possibly conflict. The Canon software never worked - it couldn't recognize the driver that was installed directly from the CD! And the Canon tech support were useless. Never again. Canon needs to get their act together.

The scanner is lightweight and had the features I wanted. Though I find it to be a little loud while scanning.

I purchased this scanner online after reviewing other scanners. Looked like a great deal for the price. Once I received it I loaded the software, drivers, etc. and plugged it in...nothing happened. After a while I finally got the software to open and it would not respond. I contacted support at Canon and uninstalled everything and re-installed off their website. I set it up for my operating system, Windows 7. Plugged it back in and...nothing. I have uninstalled it and will be returning it today. The compatibility would not link up to my laptop. So I think it is an older scanner and doesn't work with newer OS, I expected a plug and play type install and it was anything but that!

The software works fine on a Windows 7 system. Great value for the price. No separate power cord needed!

I had to use another laptop with this scanner and it doesn't work with Windows 7 as the previous reviewer stated. The company would do nothing for me other than give me "free shipping." I can go to Best Buy and get free shipping. This was done through their customer loyalty program. Some loyalty
