I initially planned on buying the seagate 5TB but it was no longer being offered so I ended up buying the WD 4TB, I really wanted that extra TB of space but I will tell you, 4 TB's is a huge amount of space. I have a bit over 1100 pics (jpg/raw) and I haven't even touched the space on this little drive....

We needed an external drive that would work with a Mac and this one fits the bill. Slim and easy to install, it allows for much needed storage for photographs. Good price on sale too.

I bought this item to back up a 4TB raid array I have. I bought a 4TB passport a year ago to hold full computer backups of all computers in the house. Why buy this to back up redundant disks? I back up to these 2 Passports each week, then disconnect them and place them in my Go bag. In case of fire, I grab the bag and go. I've got everything ready to restore to new equipment if needed. The Passport is very simple, is added to Windows as a mapped drive and any back up program can copy files as can drag and drop. Works like a charm and data tests good each quarter thus far - no bad backups. Just what I need them for. Highly recommended.

A great way to store your working stuff and carry it with you to any PC it can be reformatted to work in a Mac too. Love the idea this one stores my audio-books!

I was looking for a portable drive to back up my family photos and videos. My library has grown over the years, and the need was there for a larger capacity drive that is portable and can easily be stored in a safe spot. I own 2 other WD drives and was happy with their performance. This time I decided on a smaller footprint with portability and found this 4TB drive. It connects for fast transfer rate via USB 3.0. It comes in several colors; I chose the black model since that was the one in stock. To protect the drive when not in use, I bought the hard shell case. It fits the drive nicely and has room for the cable and additional thumbdrives if needed.

I've always been a wd user their products work and last this product is no different it works it lasts and it does what it's supposed to do I have the one terabyte as well that I got first and when it came out with a 4 terabyte I couldn't wait to get it a small compact slightly larger than average Android cell phone of course a little thicker but in diameter just slightly bigger than an Android phone but it works great the only power source it needs of the USB drive hookup that I has that's convenient meeting I can hook it up to my car radio and play a thousands of songs as a jukebox or you can hook it up to your laptop on the go it's a great storage device

Price per GB for this was a major driving factor. I'm using this with my new XBox because I'm expecting the built-in 1TB to go fast. Easy to setup and install games and apps to.

compact enough to fit in you backpack, book bag or even a purse. plenty of storage on hand for my school files and as a place to store my music, some video and movies. After reformat it work no problem with my book book pro. also works with USB 2.0 so even my old mac book read it no problem. For some basic storage i think it was a great deal.

I purchased the WD - My Passport 4TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive and couldn't be happier. Photography is my hobby and I needed an external hard drive to store my photos for backup. I've lost photos with a computer crash in the past and don't ever want to lose photos again. I use OS so I had to reformat the hard drive but that was easy to do with the instructions provided. I would recommend this device to any one looking for a large capacity external hard drive. It's fast when looking for photos and compact. The price is right was looking at a smaller size but for $20 more and decided to purchase the 4TB, I'll have more than enough space.

This drive is small and does not need external AC power so you can bring it anywhere. 4TB should be enough for most use

I bought this to be able to view media on my PS4 like movies and VR. The PS4 can only read exFat drives and this was very easy to partition. There is so much space on this drive that I can use the other NTFS partition for my PC file backups. Overall satisfied with this product.

I haven't been using it for very long but thus far, this external HD has worked great. I am using to hook up to an Xbox One X for extra game storage space. As soon as I hooked it up to the Xbox, the Xbox recognized it, did a quick format and I was off and running. I would however recommend the 2yr geek squad plan in case you ran into any issues. As I say, I have had none with this and expect to have none but I have been dealing with HD's for years and occasionally you might get one that goes bad well before you expect it to, just happens infrequently. I have had pretty good luck with Western Digital in the past.

The price on this drive at 119.99 was excellent. The drive is about as thick as 2 boxes of cards together and not much bigger than a deck of cards. I use it to store videos, and to backup the harddrives for my new laptop, my wifes laptop, and the desktop. The 3 of those took about 700gb. Now I have all kinds of room remaining to store other things. I actually plan to keep two backups for each device every couple of months I will overwrite an older one, Just in case the newest and greatest virus should hit, I'll be prepared. The price of the drive and remembering to get a backup is cheaper than buying a copy of windows

I've only just started to transfer VHS family videos to this 4tb drive. I am realizing how much space I'm going to gain, getting rid of boxes of VHS tapes. I wish that I would have started this project sooner. I'll probably purchase a second one for a backup.

I purchased this portable hard drive to store games for use on my Xbox One and later, my Xbox One S. I have not had any problems with this drive and have been enjoying an affordable way to expand my video game storage capacity. I have over 125 Xbox One and Xbox 360 games installed on the hard drive and have barely gotten close to filling half of the hard drive. I love the hard drive for its performance and I enjoy the fact that it resembles the original Xbox One console design.
