I had to replace my 4yr old 36in Kitchen aid gourmet microwave due to quality issues, 36in are no longer available so I decided for this one. Before then I had to add some spacers made of the same material as my current cabinet. My kitchen now looks updated and very sleek. The microwave is quiet, easy to use, snd has some nice features that I have not used yet but are worth trying them like: convection, mobile operation, alexa enabled etc. We are happy with it.

I waited a couple months to write a review. I saw all the negative posts, but the positive ones sold me. Don’t make my mistake believing they were just a few unsatisfied people. First Positives: 1.) It cooks food. 2.) The sensor cook seems to work well, especially on soups. 3.) It looks great. Negatives: 1.) Will not stay connected to the internet. So all the features they advertise are usually not available. 2.) The touchscreen needs a major overhaul. It constantly freezes and we have to unplug the microwave to reset it. If you buy it make sure to get the warranty.

Needed a new microwave. Did not realize you could get one with convection. Did our 1st chicken and it was great. So far everything is great. Would recommend this item if you have to replace your current microwave.

The look of this microwave is great we had it for past 3 weeks. I have learned you need the hood fan on or the display gets very hot and freezes. Since then no issues.

After my over the range microwave died, I searched pretty extensively for a replacement. This has proven to be the perfect fit for what I need. It is very powerful, quiet and versatile. The fact that it is a smart appliance is an added bonus and works very easily with Amazon's Alexa. I has an easy to use but extensive on screen menu for cooking and the convection feature is icing on the cake. Highly recommended

    Best microwave in the market

I have this microwave for 4 year already the best microwave’s of ever , you can download the whirlpool app and increase the option of cooking, the sensing sensor help to avoid over heat your food, excellent to heat the milk for the coffee is excellent. More option then any other microwave in the market also is a conventional oven and warmer to keep your food warm. You need one of those in your house. Paid little more but a lot of choices. The only issue I have in 4 year was the door lock get stock but with a YouTube video I fixed and worked beautifully again.

This TRULY would be a great microwave oven, with one exception.... the touchscreen display has problems. I've only owned this microwave since May 15, 2019 (as of the writing of this review, 15 days ago). Since that time, on three separate occasions, I have walked into my kitchen only to find the touchscreen display either: 1) completely dark (nothing displayed), or 2) full of horizontal white lines. In BOTH cases, the unit is completely UNRESPONSIVE! The only remedy is for me to reach above, pull out the plug (AC power cord) , wait a good minute, then replug it back in. The unit restarts/reboots and will work...... until the next time this occurs. I CANNOT believe that this oven that I paid $849 for (it's now on sale for a lot less) works WORSE than my old XP computer which was always freezing. Ironically, I work in the IT (Information Technology) field and chuckle to myself that this Whirlpool with it's "black screen" or "white line filled screen" is like the old "BSOD (Blue Screen of Death)" that we used to have with the old computers. I, of course, made sure that the unit had the latest firmware (which, as of this writing is: version 4.4.56). So, there's no firmware update to fix this problem. I had the unit plugged into an appliance rated surge supressor outlet because I know that touchscreens on modern appliances are highly susceptible to voltage spikes and such. The problem with the touchscreen happened anyway. So, I removed the surge surpressor and plugged the microwave directly into the electric outlet.... the touchscreen problem STILL occurred. I've written to Whirlpool and hope they will provide me a satisfactory answer to remedy this situation , other than, "unplug it, wait, and plug it back in again". None of my other appliances require that "fix", so I am hoping that this will not be their answer. We will see. I am not hopeful. Now... onto the "pluses".... when the unit works... it works very well indeed. The convection part of the oven is a great thing. But, what I really found convenient is "Scan and Cook". Where you use the Whirlpool app and scan the barcode on a frozen meal, snack, etc., and the step-by-step directions appear on the touchscreen, as well as the app. You follow along and it cooks the food properly. No more squinting at the tiny instructions on the box. So... mechanically, when able to start, the microwave works. But, ELECTRONICALLY... not so good. Final thought.... this unit was purchased to replace an older Whirlpool (actually KitchenAid, which was bought out by Whirlpool) microwave with a touch screen. The Architect II series. It was purchased in 2006. Touchscreen on that NEVER had a problem UNTIL March of this year (2019). Then became unresponsive. Authorized Whirlpool tech came out... only to find the circuit boards were malfunctioning and , of course, are no longer made. This is what necessitated my purchase of the microwave of this review (because I wanted a touchscreen).

It might be too soon to rate this microwave. I saw a previous review that stated the display panel went out after a week. Mine did the same after a week. We called and they suggested turning on and off the breaker. That did work, they suggested it was due to a power surge?? Nothing else was effected. If that happens frequently, then I’ll change my mind. Otherwise, I have enjoyed my fancy microwave with the convection oven option. I did bake some frozen biscuits and they baked nicely. I liked the look of this microwave, but immediately missed the numbered key pad. You have to press digital panel before you can enter cook time. I didn’t like that the first couple days, but I easily made the transition with digital display. So, not sure if this microwave is a 5 star, but I have been pleased with performance, and will be as long as I don’t loose the digital screen display.

This review is right out of the box. Good looking applicance but maybe more complicated than you need a mircowave to be - for example, still can't figure out how to just run it for 10 seconds. Having an issue getting the applicance to connect to Whirlpool servers (necessary for some of the advanced features that integrate with your phone), but still working on it. Have not had any of the screen problems that have been identified below, but again still early in ownership. If it needs an update, I'll provide. They force you to select either Yes or No for recommendation, I'm really a maybe.

Delightful cooking, function; setup can be fussy

The cooking functions of this microwave + convection oven are very good, and understandable from the front panel menu. The setup of the WiFi connectivity can be fussy; I still haven't been able to fully connect the oven to the Whirlpool appliance Android app. Installation was straightforward, mostly fitting into the prior oven's spot. The provided templates were of very good help. This oven is a bit taller than the old one (1/2 inch), so some chiseling of old tile grout was needed. (This is not unexpected when changing from one old brand to any new one.)

The availability of an extra convection oven for Thanksgiving dinner scored me some points with the wife. This microwave is amazing. I'd love to see better integration with Alexa though like having her know how much time is left on whatever is in there.

Purchased this microwave as a replacement. This microwave gets used quite often and does a great job warming/cooking food. The only complaint is the touch screen will hang up once in a while, which requires having to reset the power to fix the issue. Beyond that annoyance this has been a good product so far.

Installation is tough. The "nut keepers" located inside the unit that hold it in place above the range - are terrible. I read something similar in another review so I was being extremely careful to get the bolt started - using just my finger pressure. The one on the left popped out and fell into the microwave housing. We had to take it down, remove all the screws, dig out the metal bracket and nut, and replace. I can't believe this design passed any sort of engineering inspection! Horrible design and quality. Everything else seems to be working OK so far. It's an expensive unit - I expected this bracket design would have been fixed. I hope the rest of the unit holds up better.
