Quiet and works great. Love the the app - I'm able to turn it on before getting home.

This air conditioner is built very well, looks nice, quiet, but the best part is it really does keep out the outside noises. I live on a busy street and the number of jerks with loud cars, trucks and motorcycles is more than annoying.
The unit doesn’t slam on the fan at whatever setting you choose, but ramps it up gently. I think for a box hanging out your window, it looks the nicest.
I replaced a typical air conditioner I bought just last year with this one. Spend the extra $100 bucks. You will be happy you did.

This window a/c unit will regulate your room temperature to the perfect degree. I had it for a few months and it has been wonders. I would recommend!!!

With my grandson complaining about how my ac unit makes too much noise, I checked out this one. I have to check the vent to see if it’s on., this is the best window unit ever. I recommend it to anyone , along with the ease of installing it. We had it done in 5 minutes .

Windmill Customer Service: ***** (5 star++)
Product: * (1 star)
Average the two, and we get 3 star. Ultimately I could not use this machine, and I was very hopeful since they are on Wirecutter's recommendation page.
I bought a Windmill Whispertech 8000 from Best Buy to replace a 3 year old unit that was still working but on the way out. I installed it and when the pump kicks in it was very loud and vibrated. Windmill responded VERY quickly thru the chat on Saturday, and continued troubleshooting on Sunday. On Monday they confirmed they were sending out a replacement. Received the replacement, and it had basically the same problem. The offered a very generous gift card for the hassle, and sent out another replacement. Same problem! They then refunded me my ENTIRE purchase price from Best Buy on another gift card. I was still open to this machine as it was reviewed highly and it looks good and they sent out the 3rd replacement - in other words - the FOURTH machine. Same problem! Windmill customer service outdid themselves, but it still was not enough because of the problem with the machines.
I can only imagine they are going thru a temporary Quality Control issue, or maybe during transit something shifts which causes the units to make lots of noise and vibrate when pump starts, how else would they get to Wirecutter's review page? But at the end of the day after all these replacements I did not receive a 'quiet' air conditioner from them - since they covered my costs it was not 'painful.' I bought another brand with similar 'quiet rating' in terms of decibels, and it worked great right out of the box.

Very well rated unit. The purchase and delivery was flawless. All done online. I couldn’t use it after all and did not need it in the end but I would buy again if needed.

Reviews are accurate. They claim it’s an inverter unit but it’s just as loud as any other ac unit I tried.
Also does not cool effectively. The LG dual inverter unit I picked up with the same BTUs cools way faster and is so much quieter. Don’t go with a startup company on this one. It looks pretty but sounds and performed awful

LOVE IT….. Even in a quiet room you can barely hear it running.. The only other thing it comes with a one-year warranty. I hope it survives many years! I cosign for this brand and will purchase this brand from here on out

I was very exicted when I received my unit. Installation was straight forward and the app work well. My complaint, when I run just the fan its very quiet, once i turn the “cool” setting on I hear a loud buzzing sound from the unit. Not what I was expecting, if it doesn’t level out after a week or two I’ll return it.

I purchased 3 different brand air conditioners this year. The Windmill brand was hands down the WORST brand I have bought and also the most expensive!! Don't waste your time unless you like the constant sound of a jackhammer in your ear! I bought 2 of these units at the same time, thinking they would be the best choice, since they were the priciest and had the best reviews. BOTH units sound exactly the same and they are so loud, they have woken up teen boys from a dead sleep. I'm so disappointed I threw away $800. Save your money and go with the $250 inverter units on Amazon!

Sounds like a tractor trailer sitting in my driveway with this AC. Bought it because it was supposed to be quiet and it is aesthetically pleasing and is quiet in the room, but rattles my house like a Huey helicopter is taking off

Replaced my 8000 btu unit with a 12,000 BTU and they just do not blow cold air. If it gets over 80° in the summer, this unit will be almost useless. Get a good old-fashioned compressor unit and save your hard earned money. I won’t be surprised if this company files for bankruptcy in the near future. I also noticed no difference in my electric bill. It was definitely a lot quieter, but that’s because the fan is weak and the air is only cool. Not cold. The Carbon filter it comes with is tiny and thin. Its just a sales gimmick. I can’t remember the last time I purchased something and regretted it this much.

This dual compressor is louder than my previous ac unit, sounds like a helicopter. Looks fancy though. Little overpriced. Be aware of Buy 15 day return policy. What a waist og money. Tried Midea, much quieter, cheaper and the noice come in and out
