This is not my first Yale lock product. I am a big fan and have a keypad deadbolt on my garage and it is awesome. So when looking for a keypad lever option I decided to look at the Yale options first this time. The application I wanted it for was in my wife's home office, as we have young kids and don't want them getting into the room to mess things up.
So no heavy lifting here what so ever. It is a really easy swap to the existing hardware you have in place. The knob I replaced was a standard round knob with a key lock in the knob on the outside and a twist lock on the inside. I have it in the matte black color, which looks amazing against a bright white door. One thing to note. We painted this door, and what I noticed during installation was that they have a little gasket designed to be between the door and lock. I like the idea that it may protect the finish, and it is a nice little detail if I decide to ever remove the lock.
Having other locks made by Yale, I want to say they really stepped up their game with this one. The proximity feature is really cool. With my other lock, I can use the keypad, use the key or use Alexa/Google/Siri to unlock it. With this version the lock senses you and unlocks as you go to use it. It does that by sensing your iPhone (that is what we have) and it unlocks. This is great from the "ease of use" standpoint, but it also means anyone that can get into your phone can manipulate their way through the lock possibly. So I would think about that when you think about placement. Or disable the feature if it is not for you? The point here though, is that you now have a keyless entry and a variety of ways to go about it. And Yale has upped the game with this device.
The keypad works well. It is bright in low light and it has a backup battery (9v) you install in case the batteries die. Additionally, it comes with two keys if you want to use them. Since it is an internal home lock, I don't mind having a different key than the house uses. Otherwise I cannot speak to the options you have for re-keying the device.
Bottom line here, is that this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a keypad handle lock for whatever application they are using it for. Yale makes a great product, and I am very happy with it. Also know that they have different colors that match all the various hardware colors people use in a house for door knobs. So there is likely one that will match what you have in your home. Take a look at this option if you are in the market for an upgrade, I am very happy with it.

Once installed, the Yale Assure lock is responsive and easy to use. The installation, however, took a bit of time. I feel the instructions could have been a bit more clear, but I ultimately figured it out.
My main gripe is, despite my front door meeting all the criteria outlined during the set-up, the lock actually didn't fit on my front door. This is because my front door has 2 holes in it -- one for the handle and one for the deadbolt. Unfortunately, these holes were too close together such that, when installed, the smart lock partially overlaps one of the holes. After some research, it appears Yale also makes locks designed for doors with separate handles and deadbolt, so I can't knock the lock for that. Just make sure your door meets the specifications to the best of your ability before buying. I was able to install the lock on my back door, which ultimately works better for my purposes anyway. However, I would have preferred they included more than one physical key.
This lock is ideal for perhaps a garage door or interior doors to which multiple people may have access. I could see this as a great option for renting out space or even a back shed. The Wi-Fi integration is a cool feature as well. I am definitely satisfied with this product.

The Yale Assure Lock smart lock is a amazing door lock. The install went smoothly and had not issues. The interaction is very simple. The instructions included are very simple to follow for installation. You are able to add different access code and are able to delete them upon command. The device itself feels like a solid build and very simple to use. You are able to program for auto locking after a certain amount of time and also a one key lock. It uses 4 AA batteries, and it has a low battery indicator. You may ask yourself what happens if you do not swap the batteries out well it can be as simple as use the 1 key included or better off if you are in a true bind, you can use a 9-volt battery by touching the terminals in the front of the lock right underneath the numbers. Overall a very nicely built door lock. Keep in mind it is for interior doors or doors not exposed to the elements. It will bring you office security to the next level with this lock. The only dislike is the fact it only included one key, or what would have been nice is if you would be able to program your current house key to the new lock. However, i am very satified with teh security this lock provides my homer office.

I was so excited when I learned about this interior smart lock!! I have had yale products on my front exterior door for about four years now and have been waiting for an interior designed model!! Knowing that the exterior products have held up and performed flawlessly, I didn't hesitate to add this one to my home. I have an electronics closet that the kids somehow always find a way to mess up settings in and this has completely solved my problem. It is designed to replace most standard setups and this was the case for me. Basically, it was plug and play. I just unscrewed the old hardware, and this yale smart interior hardware fit perfectly without absolutely zero issues. No only does it function as advertised, it upgrades the look and coolness factor of a regular interior door ten fold. As soon as I can think of a reason to need another one, I won't hesitate to stick with yale and continue upgrading with their products. Their install and setup instructions and process has become more user friendly over the past few generations of their smart locks, so even if you aren't tech savy, it's easy to diy
