I upgraded to this model because I wanted 4K and I have not been disappointed. The unit is high quality and provides most of the features you would only find in more expensive receivers. Easy to setup with on-screen menus. Works well with my Samsung TV, Apple TV and Philips BD player

I just have to say this, the quality of the Yamaha at this price is amazing and I highly recommend this product as it is worth the money for the features, ease of installation, and over quality... This is a must buy and I’m highly satisfied....

This is my second home theater receiver from Yamaha. I’m a true believer in their quality. This receiver is no exception. The sound quality is phenomenal. The only thing that I could complain about is that the connections in the back for the rear surround speakers are too small for the heavy gauge wire I like to use. It’s not just Yamaha, many other brands have the same issue. I suppose this could be remedied with the use of clips or something like that. Nonetheless, I love this receiver!!!

I bought this receiver after I returned a Sony receiver. The Sony receiver just didn’t work the way it was supposed to. This Yamaha receiver is excellent! Far better than the receiver I returned. Easy to setup and easy to download the app. The sound and picture when using this unit is outstanding!

Replaced an older yamaha without hdmi passthrough... this thing rocks! Speakers sounded bright and fresh. Dont really use the processed settings, too much reverb for me. Set up was easy with included mic. Watching movies is a completely new experience

This purchase of the Yamaha Basic receiver was a no-brainer, as I had purchased a similar NON-4K receiver (probably...) 7 years ago, & now, being time for an upgrade for my brother, it all made sense! Yamaha sells nothing BUT class products, & being the owner of their RX-A 2070 receiver, I had no doubt their entry level receivers were as wonderfully crafted as their top-tier A/V gonzo-receivers!!! Sounds are excellent...hookup with HDMI configuration along with an entry level BlueRay player was SO SIMPLE!!! My brother is smiling even more than before!!!HA!

I purchased this for my daughter and her husband as a house warming gift from my wife and I. We have had a similar Yamaha receiver for over 7 years now and it has performed flawlessly. They loved the gift and give it a 5 star rating for performance and ease of use. There are some issues with compatibility since they have a Vizio television but nothing that could not be worked around. Great job Best Buy on the price and availability. Can't go wrong with the Yamaha brand, very dependable and great sound.!

Fantastic sound system. Easy to navigate, and ease of set up. Also has function to auto calibrate if you need the help!

Easy to set up with clear instructions, Auto channel balancing mic is a great feature. Sound is rich good highs, mid range and lows. Enough power for our medium sized room.

I have used Yamaha products for several years. They are the perfect fit for a basic home studio that meets all of my simple needs. The cost is accessible, and the intuitive set up is simple . I recently purchased a 4K television, and I wanted to upgrade the capacity of running pure 4K through the receiver to maximize the capacity of the television. I’ve had no problems in the first few months of the product, however, I did purchase the four year warranty just in case. In any event , I’m very happy with the product, and I will continue to endorse Yamaha because if it’s affordability, and performance.

Was going to the store to pick up either a Sony or onkyo receiver and then my eyes caught this one on sale for a better price. I checked some reviews of it online while standing in the store and it had way better relievers than the others so I took a chance and it has paid off! Have it hooked up to my projector for our home cinema as well as Xbox one,PS4 and cable with the 5 speakers and sub and it is amazing! User friendly just have to play with your settings a bit to your style of room for sound quality but I couldn’t be any happier

I had to retire my Panasonic Surround system that I loved. So I bought this Yamaha Receiver, a pair of Polk Audio Signature Passive 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers, and a Polk Audio Center speaker. WOW, the sound is awesome!!

A nice system with good sound quality. Pretty easy to use it has a nice remote. Good 5.1 surround sound with lots of bass and plenty of power. It looks nice too.

The Yamaha RX-V383 has a boat load of features for the price. If you're looking for a capable 5.1 channel receiver for your movie & music pleasure, this is it. And since it is currently a clearance priced item, it's even more of a bargain. You can manually customize your sound or use Yamaha's YPAO (Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimizer) to tailor sound for you. At 85w per channel, it's more than enough power for a medium sized family room. If you are a specs geek, a PDF of the manual can be found online and see if it meets your needs. It did mine.

I've been using this receiver for about two months now and it has been working great. It was easy to set up using the YPAO, it is convenient with the multiple HDMI connections, and it sounds good whether I am watching TV, streaming a show, playing a DVD or Blu-Ray, or listening to FM or AM over the air radio broadcasts. The only thing I miss from my old receiver is a power jack for my sub woofer, but that is not a game breaker. Great receiver in it's price range.
