I purchased this unit as an "OPEN BOX" Excellent Condition. I saved $250.00 off the original price. This unit is functioning beautifully and sounds great. It has tons of bells and whistles. It also came with a 3 year warranty on parts and labor. I am extremely happy with my purchase and I would recommend this unit to my family and friends.

Beautiful receiver, sound and package. The Aventage line means it is not a class D amp like the RCV line. Note that this has one optical input dedicated to the TV input only.

I bought this receiver to replace a failed Yamaha RX-V4A, which died after only 4 months. So far, It has been much nicer sounding and I am enjoying it.

The only reason I'm giving those three stars instead of five it's because of two things to get the video to work half the time you have to have two sources hooked up an order for one source to show up on screen and this is one of the last avrs affected by the improper HDMI boards they put in aka the bug and I'm waiting for Yamaha to start the HDMI replacement board program. The only upside about this is it has really good audio. I would only recommend the RX-A4A and up with Yamaha.

was time to replace my Yamaha CX 830, MX 830 preamp, amp and also upgrade my receiver for surround sound. I am very impressed with this unit, I have zero background noise, all my components sound great. the automatic calibration of the speakers for surround sound balance was easy to use.

A little too much. after buying this and bringing it home I realized this is too sophisticated for my needs. It is high quality but had features I would never use. I returned this and bought a simpler Yamaha receiver.

This appears to be a very powerful unit. I would give it 5 stars if it included a detailed manual on all of its uses. If you’re a novice then I’d probably not recommend this as you’ll be spending a lot of time on the internet researching “how to’s.”

Would rate it excellent if the online guide wasn't so poorly organize and confusing. This unit has a lot of good features and it sounds and works great, but without a decent user manual, it's hard to know wha they all do or how to use them.

This is an absolute beast! Great for PS5 or Xbox series X. More features to be updated in a few weeks but out the box you should be happy. It is complicated and not really for a beginner, but if you're lifelong audiophile...BUY THIS IMMEDIATELY!!!

Shipment directly to my house was very quick. Set-up was very easy and the best of all is the sound. Surround Sound is unreal with movies and the awesome stereo sound with music videos. I am also pre set when I want to go to an 8k tv. It is placed in a Sanus cabinet so I won't be posting any images, sorry.

I found the sound quality of the Yamaha to be pretty good, however, I did not like the app interface or the limitations placed on how mp3 files can be played off a USB drive. When you have an extensive music library, ease in access to songs, artists, albums, etc. is important and Yamaha fails here compared to Denon's Heos and Onkyo. At the price point these receivers go for now, consumers deserve a solid interface. Were it not for this, I would have kept the unit as I liked the sound settings for surround and otherwise, the receiver was good.

Very pleased with the product. It replaces a Sony that gave up the ghost. The Yamaha is much more user friendly. It works well with our old surround sound system and switches easily between zones. It provides excellent sound quality and is very flexible within its various functions. Great performance for the money. It more than meets our needs!
