Yamaha has a lot of work to do on the interface of this receiver and music cast. The app is not designed very well with functions left off and only selectable through the remote i.e. bluetooth pairing. The main unit has no functionality that can be deployed without using a tv. Unnecessarily awkward to operate. Receiver cuts out on wben in use for long periods saying check speaker w wire. Do better Yamaha. Save yourself from frustration and by a different brand.

ARC is buggy on this reciever. Sometimes works, most of the time it doesn't. So annoying.

Problems with normal programming very hard to understand

I purchased this to replace my Pioneer SA9800 stereo amplifier. I was looking for something with specs similar to my old amp. This receiver had good reviews. I am finding it a very difficult to learn how everything works as I do not have a surround system. It does produce fairly good sound out of my 2 Klipsch speakers. If I had to do it over, I would not buy this for my system.

As someone who has extensive experience with A/V equipment, I would not recommend this receiver. Every time I turn this receiver on, it powers on with the volume muted and the remote and receiver's volume knob and mute button unresponsive. I have to unplug the receiver from AC power to reset and it works fine after. Ridiculous. This alone is a reason for return which I will be doing. Also, the plastic front is a magnet for dust, fingerprints, and scratches.

Set up was awful, right after downloading firmware update I could not keep the set up inputs ! Thought I was doing it wrong and paid for a geeksquad set-up and even they failed ! Returned for refund ! Will not consider buying again !

I love Yamaha but this unit had source switching problems so I returned after three days.

Look like this item was used. The box was open and some of the parts were missing. My wife wanted me to return it!!

Doesn't perform like I expected probably wasn't setup properly or not explained on how to operate

Many issues. Firmware did not fix it. I bought something else. I need to add the sound quality is fine for stereo, but not much else. Poor separation, I run sound for bands, I could not get this to sound the way I wanted. I have many Yamaha components, and on this one they failed me.

The receiver feature set is good, but I should have taken heed to the negative reviews. The HDMI send is broken after only 5 months of owning the device.
