Q: Can this be hardwired or you have to charge the battery every time it runs low?
A: Hi Hardwired. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Battery Doorbell has a built-in, rechargeable battery. It can also be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer for continuous charging (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz). A: Lithium Batteries below 32 degrees suffer a severe capacity reduction, an inability to to deliver high current due to slowed chemical reactions, and potential damage to the battery if charged while below freezing. The good news is that Ring should have a BMS system built in which can monitor temperatures and such.
Q: I have the gen 2 now. is worth it to go with the gen 3?

Q: What mount do I need to have this on an angle? My front door does not face the front of my house.
A: Hi Chrissy. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question. We recommend using the Ring Wedge Kit or the Ring Corner Kit for the Ring Battery Doorbell to adjust the device to your desired view. It sounds like the Ring Corner Kit would be the best option for turning the doorbell to face another direction if your door does not face the front. We have included a link here to an article on our website with more information on using a Ring Wedge Kit or Ring Corner Kit with your Ring doorbell: https://ring.com/support/articles/90tcr/Using-a-Wedge-Kit-to-Properly-Position-your-Ring-Video-Doorbell. It can also be hardwired to an existing doorbell system or transformer for continuous charging (8-24 VAC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz). To adjust your chime settings in the Ring app: Open the Ring app to the main dashboard. Tap more (•••) on the camera you want to access. Tap your device's Settings. Tap Device Settings. Tap In-home Chime Settings. Navigate to In-home Chime Settings in your Ring app. Tap Automatic Chime Detection. Allow the app to detect the in-home chime, then confirm your doorbell is wired to a chime if prompted. Tap Ring my In-home Chime to hear your in-home chime ring when the doorbell is pressed. Follow the in-app instructions and push the button on your Ring doorbell. If it does not ring correctly, select either My chime rang partially or My chime didn’t ring. The Ring app will adjust the device settings automatically and prompt you to test your doorbell again. If the app is unable to detect an in-home chime, it will redirect to the start of the automatic chime detection process. I’ve been using the Ring Video Doorbell for a while now, and it has truly added both convenience and peace of mind to my home. The installation process was straightforward, with clear instructions and all necessary tools included. The video quality is crisp, even at night, and the motion detection works very well without too many false alerts. One of my favorite features is being able to see and talk to visitors directly from my phone, even when I’m not home. It also records clips when motion is detected, which makes it easy to check back later. The Ring app is user-friendly, and integration with Alexa is seamless.
