My latest keyboard is the ROCCAT Vulcan TKL compact mechanical. I went with this keyboard because I absolutely love the smaller form-factor look and don't need the numeric keypad. I also insist on my keyboards to have a volume control as I find it extremely handy and this one has a great volume knob on the top-right. But what really drew me to this keyboard is just the overall look. The brushed aluminum of the base and the thin square keys gives this keyboard a premium and modern look. I also went with the mechanical keys over the optical ones as I didn't see the benefit of paying so much more money for what looked like an identical keyboard. I'm a touch-typist and I didn't find any added benefit from typing on optical switches. Overall I'm extremely pleased with this purchase and I recommend this keyboard.

It’s not super loud to type on and this makes for one of the best gaming keyboards I’ve ever used. Each key press feels like I’m typing on a cloud. I also live the RGB customization with the TurtleBeach app. Pairs well with my Kone XP Air mouse.

Each keypress feels great to the touch and very responsive. It also makes an addictive soft clicking sound. My old mechanical keyboard was too loud, which gets annoying when gaming because you could hear it over your headset. The backlight is fully customizable. The software allows you to choose from various presets that include colors and patterns. Each key can get its own color if you choose so. You can adjust the brightness or even opt to have no color at all. With all that said, I can safely say "there's no turning back".

The feeling of the keys and the sound of the key press was unreal. I decided to return it for the pro because I need the ten keys on the side of the keyboard for ease of access during work. The amount of customization on lighting was amazing. The fact that the keys were raised from the board and the structure of them were thinner than normal keys paired with the aluminum face made the LEDs look so great. 10/10 would recommend if you want a great value for high quality. Side note: the keyboard is on the heavier side which is a huge plus.

This is his first gaming keyboard and all he says are just good review from quality to aesthetics. The only thing that is not good for us is the distance of the store from our place. Q: QuestionWhat are the four default light options? I can't find them described anywhere and have a Mac so I can't customize... can anyone describe the four default settings to choose from?

- A:Answer The Vulcan TKL features three different illumination modes that can be activated without access to Swarm. Through Swarm five profiles and therefore illumination modes become available. To cycle between modes, press FN + Arrow Left/Right. The modes that are available by default are a gradient from Red to Orange (Left to Right), a wave-like illumination that slowly bounces back and forth between left an right and a simple rainbow color wave.
