Used this to replace getting the wireless signal using an Apple Airport Extreme to the Ethernet of my son's gaming computer. It is definitely slower than the Airport (down from 52mbps to 16 mbps in speed tests) but for the money it is good enough. The antennas are so close to the metal case of the computer it is probably a disadvantage (the Airport sat up on an open shelf).

For the price the performance was decent. My router is down stairs and the desktop is upstairs. Sometimes it runs a little slow. However it doesn't drop signal like my old one used to.

For my desktop, I tried to use those usb wireless adapter and most either flat out doesn't work or worked for 1-2 month and breaks.
I also tried to use power line adapters which gave up on me after 6 months. So now I came to try the real wireless card. it has been good for 1 month so far, can only give this 5 star once it breaks the 6 months mark. depending on durability stars can go up or down.

Wireless unit worked fine in the store but my service provider, Comcast now Xfinity will not allow internet connection to a computer running Windows XP. I will follow up with them; I don't hold out much hope for that.

Want to add wifi to your desktop? Use this PCI wireless card! Install went easy and supplied software makes set up a breeze. It catches quite a few networks in my area and works well with my N network.
