Looks great and dries quickly
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced Samsung top load washer and dryer set that was about six years old (search: Samsung dryer won’t stop running issue) with this new set. The speed and amount of time this new dryer runs is much more efficient than my previous one. Love the WiFi feature to send alerts when the cycle is complete so your newly dry clothes don’t sit and wrinkle. Only issue was the installer snapped off the pedestal clip. Didn’t even notice until they left and I went to balance the feet. I love the way these new machines look in my laundry room. Hoping they last longer than the last set.

Great value but annoying lint collector
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Dryer with lots of options for the money. I really like the refresh cycle that has steam to reduce wrinkles and sanitize or reduce static electricity. They Install a hose splitter to bring a hose to the dryer and maintain the one up the washer. I knocked it down a star because of the lint collector. It’s annoyingly cumbersome to open the clamshell hinged design and there’s 6 small screens to clean vs. my previous dryer lint collector that was 1 big easy screen. See pic. Otherwise so far so good.

Dryer - Troublemaker
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very dissatisfied with the work of my dryer because I constantly encounter the problem that bulky clothing and bedding cannot be dried immediately. The drying process cannot be left unattended because the clothes constantly twist into rolls so tightly that it is impossible to unwind them. As a result, clothes can spin in the machine for an hour and the machine will turn off, indicating that the cycle is complete, but in reality everything inside the roll is still very wet! This is frustrating! I was advised to put felt balls in the dryer and then tennis balls to prevent the clothes from rolling up, but then I have to retrieve the balls from the twisted sheets and blankets. Additionally, when I remove the clothes and linen, all the balls spill onto the floor and now I have a new task of collecting the balls after drying! I am extremely disappointed that my new and modern machine requires the use of such balls that don't really help! Another problem is that the dryer does not control overheating, and sometimes after the drying cycle ends, it continues to dry, setting additional time, causing delicate clothing to over-dry and get ruined. I need to constantly monitor the cycle and control the drying. Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with this product and regret buying it.

Posted .We are here to help you improve your laundry experience, Denn. Let's go ahead and check your dryer's settings on why you cannot dry.
If your dryer is heating, but the clothes are still damp, your vent is probably blocked. If your dryer has weak heat and runs for a long time, that could also be a blocked vent. And if your dryer ends after only a couple of minutes with soaking wet clothes, your moisture sensors could be dirty. Please check these links for details.

To get the best results when you're doing laundry, it's important to consider the weight of each load that you're drying. Small, heavy items can overload your dryer just as much as large, lightweight items. Please check this link for details.

The Eco Dry setting reduces heat output in order to save energy. In fact, the beginning of the cycle doesn't use any hot air at all. This results in longer cycles with overall less energy expenditure. You can turn the setting off before the cycle.

The WiFi isn't worth it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If the WiFi and Bixby integration is what you're buying this for, save your money. The WiFi features are hit or miss, Bixby is absent, and the Smart Things app is a dysfunctional security risk. Lets start with the Smart Things app. The app requires location and WiFi permissions. No surprise for the WiFi, the location permission gives the app Bluetooth LE and is needed only once, to set your dryer up. Even though you'll only use the feature once, the app will refuse to launch if you revoke this permission (that it needs only once). I wouldn't mind so much, but the app turns Bluetooth and WiFi on whether it's using them or not, and leaves them on until you manually turn them off, killing your phone or tablet's battery. As noted, revoking location privileges causes the app to refuse to do anything. What happens if you revoke WiFi privileges? The app goes ahead and turns on WiFi anyway. It bypasses Android security, ignores permission settings, and turns on WiFi even if you've revoked WiFi permission. This makes the app a security risk for your device. If it can ignore Android's security settings, it can be used to compromise your device. This is not acceptable. So what do you get for allowing this app to compromise your device? The only connected feature that really works -- and just barely, is the ability to monitor cycle progress. If you want to use the remote control features, you have to go to your dryer and turn them on manually for every cycle, completely defeating the purpose of having remote control features. Want to use the Cycle Link feature that lets your washer tell your dryer about the load it just washed so the dryer automatically picks the right cycle to best dry your clothes? You'll never get it to work, you'll get an error message every time. So what about the rest of the package? It's a great dryer, but you can get most of the features that actually work in a cheaper model, and that's what you should do. If you do decide to spend the extra money for the connected features, I strongly recommend maintaining your phone or tablet's security by running the Smart Things app in an emulator on your PC. Which brings to mind another issue: Why can't you access the connected features directly on your PC? Why does Samsung force you to use a portable device for them?

We love how they work and look!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Samsung washing machine and it's maching dryer, were exactly what we were looking for! The smart functions are good at letting you know when the cycle is complete by notification on your smartphone. We were surprised that we could get "smart" machines within our price range. We love using them, and how nice they look in our home. Good Job Samsung!

Q: QuestionI own a Whirlpool Duet. After 10 years I'm looking to purchase a new washer and dryer, this model in particular. With my Whirlpool dryer you cannot use dryer sheets due to the sensors inside the drum that detect dampness. Is it the same for this model?
Asked by Texas4Ever.
This question was asked about the related product: Samsung - 7.5 Cu. Ft. Stackable Smart Electric Dryer with Steam and Sensor Dry - Champagne
- A:Answer We just replaced our deut and we used drier sheets in every load. We never had a problem with the sensors until the last month or so to which we found out the computer board was going bad in two areas. My wife puts drier sheets in the newest and has yet to complain about it.

Q: QuestionThe machine come with the power cord ??
Asked by Mark.
- A:Answer No, because we have gone from 3 prong 220Volts to the new 4 prong standard and you just don’t know which you have in you home. The silver lining is that you should be able to use your old dryers cord, remove it and install it on this one. Mazel tov!

Q: QuestionWhy did Samsung change from stainless steel drum to powder coated drum? What is the coating and metal inside this unit? Is there a comparable unit with a stainless steel drum?
Asked by accentriciTEES.
- A:Answer They didn't "change" the drum, it's a different offering for more cost efficient dryers. The flagship and higher-priced dryers are still stainless steel. The reason the most cost efficient dryers are powder coated because the drum is made of steel which is prone to oxidization so it needs a coating to protect it. Steel+powder coating is cheaper than stainless steel.

Q: QuestionDoes the dryer shut off automatically when dry?
Asked by Bluegillboy.
- A:Answer Great question, Bluegillboy! This will actually depend on which cycle is selected. This model offers both "sensor dry" cycles and "manual dry" cycles. The manual dry cycles are generally time based, and will run for the designated time then stop, regardless if the clothes are dry or not. However, the sensor dry cycles use moisture sensors inside the drum to automatically stop the cycle once the items are dry, or even extend the cycle if they are not dry. ^Jecca

Q: QuestionDoes this dryer have an air only option? If so, what is the maximum time it will allow?
Asked by Texas4Ever.
- A:Answer Great question, Texas4Ever! This model has an Air Fluff cycle that tumbles the load in room temperature air. You are able to adjust the Air Fluff time up to 1 hour and 39 minutes. ^Jecca
