A: Yes, just tell them you want to keep your existing plan. I am grandfathered into an older plan and have changed phones twice thru Best Buy without losing my plan.

A: Same with Verizon, both use CDMA. AT&T uses GSM can talk and surf at the same time. It's the carrier not the phone maker that limits this.
