A: Yes you can turn of the Ice Dispenser in the freezer. Press the "Ice Off" symbol on the fridge and the display will show icons for top ice maker and bottom ice maker. Press the "Ice off" until you see the bottom Ice maker icon lit.

Q: i hate hate hate this fridge! it doesnt clean well even w/stainless cleaner. any suggestions?

A: I too have found no way to keep this reasonably clean. Always looks horrible

Spacious
Nice unit. Lighting is good inside, nice features. I like the door in a door feature, makes it easy to get often used items. The inside door compartments on the left side however are not as useful due to the shape because of the ice maker. The inside is spacious and I like the adjustable shelving. The freezer drawer takes some getting use to unless you like digging through stacks. Luckily I have a upright freezer so I only put items I want quick access to.

Nice Large, Easy to Use Unit
The French door concept along with the extra double action door on the right hand side is very nice and useful - and saves on energy use. I loved the large capacity of the freezer, the sensible layout, and ease of use. The only negative would be that it would be nice to have some sort of drain for the outside water - ice dispenser, rather than a small welled tray to catch drops or ice chunks. You need to hold your cup or glass close to the ice dispensing mechanism - or ice will fly out onto the floor. All in all it is a great appliance and seems pretty quiet. Also, the delivery guys were great and knew what they were doing as far as removing doors to both the house and the appliance and took care to not damage anything.

Great in the first month of ownership
Replaced a 7 year old LG fridge, which we moved into our garage for extra storage. The design by itself is a significant upgrade from our prior fridge. The dual purpose door allows you to just access a series of pull-out trays where you can keep the items you use the most, allowing energy savings, I'm pretty sure. It is certainly very convenient. Shelves and drawers are easy to arrange. It was quite easy for us to arrange a space for tall wine bottles/juice bottles, which made space usage much more efficient. There is an ice maker in the fridge, with a larger ice bucket in the freezer. I find myself using the freezer ice more often, mostly because its faster than waiting for the ice to come out from the fridge dispenser. Also, the fridge ice is white and cloudy, while the freezer ice is clear. I don't know what that is. Very quiet operation. Very smooth doors. Temp seems quite stable in a month of use. Don't know yet about energy consumption, but according to CR, it should be very low. Looks very nice, inside and out. Interior lighting is bright and uniform.
