I really wanted to love this player, but it just wouldn't work no matter what. Mine was constantly skipping and freezing. It seems so nice though. The features are great, the sound quality great, the navigation is awesome, the screen is awesome, so if it works it's a great player. Also I had programming issues where it was on the wrong USB setting which oddly let to file name problems. Another annoyance is that it doesn't come with any kind of media managing software to make it easier to organize your files, it's just drag and drop. On the plus side this is one of the FEW players that has the option of a folder system instead of just tags.
So do buy this player, just don't buy it refurbished, and don't expect it to last long.

This is one the the most durable mp3 players I have ever had! I have had this same MP3 player for almost 4 years. I skate and this thing has took dozens of slams and falls and still works great. I it even fell off a 12 foot staircase. I obsess over sound quality and this sounds great. I love the features too. It even has a custom eq. The battery life is wonderful. It somehow charges itself when its about to die. One 12 hour charge can last it for about 24 hours straight. And you dont have to worry about space becuz its expandable with a memory card. I highly recommend this MP3 player.

I have had this MP3 player for a couple of years now and it is my second Sansa player. I have had no problems with this player, it holds a charge for a very long time. It is easy to use and load music on to it, just sync's right up with windows media player and you can easily load music, pictures, and more. With the mini SD slot you can add even more music and pictures, and data. One plus the Sansa player has over ipod is that if you switch computers you wont lose all of your music which saves you a lot of headaches. 5 stars all the way!

I purchased this player as a replacement to my Creative Zen Media player, which died after barely one year of use. This player is a refurbished model and cost about $43 after tax (a real bargain). I've only had it for one month, but feel confident it will last me longer than my last player. The sound is great and the built-in rechargeable battery lasts a long time. Though, the screen is smaller than I expected I really like the simple and clean user interface. The blue-glowing scroll wheel is another great feature since it combines the volume control with all play settings. Time will tell if this player survives the rigors of daily use. But, so far I'm pretty happy with it.

I have truly enjoyed this device. Unfortunately, the model is not made any longer. It uses a knob for navigation that (IMO) is much better than the the newer screen navigation. Especially for using it in the datk. The expansion card is great also.

I was worried buying a refurbished player but have had no issues. I love that I can create a play list on Rhapsody and sync it with my player. That makes it easy to hear the music I want, when my taste change.

Under $40, can't complain. It has video and memory slot so you can change it.
A:AnswerYou just need to very very lightly press the wheel in the middle and turn it clockwise or counterclockwise to put the volume down. Now, if what You mean is how to control the volume when a song is playing and You are in the main menu(which btw I had this problem since I bought the item refurbished and did not have instruction manual).......When You have a song playing, and You go back to the main menu and want to change the volume, You need to press the small button to the right, the "menu" button once and it will take You straight to the song in the "playing now" section, and then You can control the volume there. Hope I helped. Good luck.
Note: Make sure You are not using headphones with volume control on the cable running to your mp3 player. Make sure that that is set to high.
