Q: Can I connect and use an external optical drive to this device?

A: I have an HP dvd r/w external data--no problems at all.

Q: The specs show it supports M.2 SSDs, does this mean that it will support the M.2 2280 SSDs as well?

A: The enclosure supports 2280 SATA SSDs but NOT 2280 NVMe SSDs. This is important to note as (at the time of this answer) Best Buy does not have any 2280 SATA SSDs for sale and--unfortunately--provided us bad advice that the NVMe SSDs carried by Best Buy would be compatible (which they are not). Should work quite well with the 2280 SATA SSDs carried elsewhere.

Q: Will this work with M2 mini Mac? If so, will there be full functionality, or will it be limited? Thank you.

A: This plugs in by USB-C so all features would work on any USB-C capable Mac. As for matching up with the M2 Mini, the M2 mini is the same size, design and port selection as the M1 mini. This product also works great for the Mac Studio, Mac Studio has the same design and footprint as the M1/M2 mini, it is just taller. This product was designed extremely well for the Mini and Studio series and looks like a part of the Mac.

Q: Will this hub work with Intel (2018) Mac Mini?

A: Hi Dan, We appreciate your interest in our products. Unfortunately, the Stand&hub for the Mac Mini (with SSD Enclosure) does not support the 2018 & earlier Mac Mini models. We hope this helps.

Q: Will this hub work with the new Mac Mini M2? And is there another hub that does not have the SSD enclosure that is cheaper by Satechi?

A: Yes, I use this hub with my M2 Mac Mini. There is a cheaper hub that doesn't have any SSD or NVME enclosure.

Q: Is this Satechi - 7-Port USB-C Hub in stock at the West Hollywood store for Thursday, Feb. 16?

A: Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, it looks like this product is sold out at that location. Please reach out to [email protected] for further assistance.

Q: My desk setup is a 2020 MacBook Pro, which is my work laptop, and a 2020 M1 Mac mini, which is my personal machine. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work with the MacBook Pro via Thunderbolt-c? I need to switch between them easily.

A: Hi I have a macbook Pro and am in real need of some more memory for the craft and work I do. Will this help with adding more memory? I am trying not to get a new Mac till after our house is done I really want to make sure the next is exactly what I want and deff the biggest memory lol Love my iPad but I need my MacBook to have some more memory. Thanks in advance Donna
