The Almost Mount
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am calling this the almost mount, because it is the best mount I have ever bought, almost. It comes with two metal plates, one large for something like a tablet and the other small for a cell phone. The strength of the magnet with the metal plate, which are attached with 3M tape by the way, are super strong and will keep your mobile device in place. The almost part is where I think they could have done a better job with the adhesion of the material on the base of the mount, that is, the part that would rest on your dash. Granted, most drivers will never push their vehicles to the limit as I do when going around corners, but nonetheless, if you turn hard enough, say in somewhat of an emergency maneuver, the mount might slide across your dash. This may have something to do with weight of mount as well. I am not sure of the weight of the sandy material used inside to help keep it planted, but I think if they would have made the mount a bit heavier, it would have helped to keep it planted under extreme circumstances. The other gripe I have is the height of the mount. You could use this device with small 7-8 inch tablets; however, space gets really tight, especially when mounted in portrait view. With all that being said, overall, it's a really great concept. Stick the magnet on your device, place the device on the mount, and bam! No fiddling with clips..it's a one handed operation! Stick and go! I would say under normal driving conditions and used with your average smartphone, it's a super device. And the mount can easily be removed without leaving residue in your windshield like a sticky mount would, and stowed away for security. I have a Galaxy Note 4 with a somewhat thick case. The metal plate is affixed to my phone, so I have to remove my phone case every time I use the mount. However, since it comes with two plates, you could use the small one on the phone and the larger one on the case itself. I also purchased their windshield mount, which came with another two plates. So, I have the larger plate on one of my tablets, and I will use the other plate to mount on my phone case. As far as the magnet, I have not noticed any adverse effects on my memory card or the screen. And lastly, the device while mounted can be rotated without fear of the device falling off the mount, which allows for perfect and simple orientation.

Handy dashboard device mount
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this weighted dashboard device mount after having previously tried suction-cup, CD-slot- insert, and air vent clip mount versions which did not work very well (my dissatisfaction with the previous versions was attributable to the fact that suction-cup models tended to fall off the window, the plastic construction of CD-mount versions tended to crack at the screw adjustment housing, and the vent clip models of course blocked the functioning of the air vent used. In contrast, the weight of this dashboard device mount (which simply rests flat on the dashboard) is great enough that it rests firmly on the dashboard without shifting around. Unlike air vent and CD slot versions, it thus does not obscure the vehicle instrument panel. I use this mount with a fairly large Galaxy Note 5 phone and find that the included magnets that hold the device to the mount are a bit weak (though not totally ineffective) if your phone is housed in a case, but wholly adequate if you remove your phone from the case. Given that I have a dashboard top that is wide and flat enough to support this mount, I find that it has been a superior choice to the other kinds of mounting solutions I have described above.

Great GPS/Phone mount
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A friend of mine had one of these and I was impressed by the fact that it was easy to attach his phone and be displayed well without having to have something stuck on his dashboard - so I bought one for myself. It works great in my VW Jetta. The base stays put for the most part -- just don't take corners too fast or it might slide. I wouldn't suggest using Armor All on your dashboard, as it would likely make the surface entirely too slick for it to stay put. The magnet is strong that holds the GPS/phone to the mount. I bought an Otterbox case for my phone and stuck the magnet onto the back & it works like a charm. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good mounting device that doesn't use adhesives.

Mat is solid, but mount depends on GPS
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I seem to have trouble getting my Garmin GPS to stay still. I used to use a vent mount, but disliked the fact that I couldn't feel the fanned air on my face when it gets hot out. This mat works better, but I don't want to place the magnet on the back of my cell phone, and when I put the magnet on the back of my Garmin, it fell off. The GPS stays on the mat until I do a quick turn with the car, but the mat itself stays put. I would think other models of GPS would work better-- mine has a recessed spot on the back that didn't allow the magnet to stay on for long.

Worked perfectly for a week
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tired of the bouncing GPS attached over my much-needed vents on the dashboard, I decided to give this a try. Although my GPS has an indentation on the back and thus wasn't exactly touching the magnet, the mount worked great when I was on a road trip last week. Yesterday, however, the sticky side of the magnet unstuck! I will need to re-fasten the magnet. Perhaps double-sided tape will work, or will I need to use super-glue? I still rate this as an improvement over my last mount, and other devices would probably hold the magnet better than my GPS.

Handy Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially had some trouble getting the magnet to stick to the GPS, but after a few applications it seems to be staying in place now. And it's still easy to remove the GPS device if I'm travelling, or if the car is parked in an area where I'm not comfortable leaving it visible. I'd prefer a little more flexibility in how the viewing angle can be adjusted, but overall it's very handy.

Mount for Garmin GPS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mount is great and stays firmly on the dash in either of my cars. The only complaint is that I had to use super glue to get the magnet to stay connected to the back of the garmin the adhesive that comes with the device is not strong enough the backing would stay on the mount and the garmin would fall off.
