A: You simply take out the top part.
Q: Is it noisy? And does it wear out quickly if used frequently?
A: Ours is only month old so wearing out is unknow. Our last one lasted a year but it was a different kind. NOISY yes. That is only the real draw back of this shredded. Shreds in little pieces so that is the purpose.

A: It’s approximately 8-10 minutes of steady (non-stop) use before the cool down/pause mode begins.

A: In my experience a slight paper jam and paper clip is what destroyed my shredder.
