Sony - Action Cam 2.7" LCD Unit

I bought the AS20 and later saw this attachment for it. After using it a bit, I really love being able to see the live view display while filming or taking photos. It makes the action cam into kind of a camcorder. You use all the buttons on the actual camera. This is just a display attachment. It also has a tripod mount on the bottom. The screen swivels so you can use it from all angles.

This accessory converts the Action Cam to a more familiar camcorder form factor for ease of use. The LCD panel swings out like a conventional camcorder, and even swivels/tilts so you can shoot selfies. Playback is easy with the three RWD/Play/FFW buttons. But switching between record and playback is a little tricky and may involve trial and error. As could be expected, battery life is impacted by using the bright LCD screen. It's a tradeoff, depending on your priorities. Installing the camera in the housing is a bit tricky: you have to hold the camera's bottom door open while slipping the camera into the bottom half of the shell so that the LCD shell's connector can plug into the bottom of the camera.

This is a wonderful attachment for the Sony Action Cam. It allows you to hold and use it as a camcorder. It's easy to use and has a female thread to connect it to a tripod. The viewfinder is bright and crystal clear. No, you can't zoom with this device and it's not waterproof. It's just a nice add-on for your camera that also allows you to playback video and watch it on the screen.

So i started out with the arm screen, very nice. But at times found myself wanting to look at what i was recording in my hand. This screen solves the problem. makes the camera alittle bulky but not too bad. Still fits in your hand. Runs off the camera battery so that drains the battery faster but still a nice add on.

Makes camera very easy to use, especially when holding the camera. Easy to take camera out and put back in. I didn't think I would use the unit as much as I do but all in all I love it and glad I made the purchase.

Great for reviewing footage and for using the action cam as a handheld. Still keeps the overall size very compact and is easy to carry around, fits easily into a pocket if you have cargo shorts etc

A free software upgrade lets you see live image on iPhone, etc. which is very cool and don't need housing they sell for another 100 bucks with monitor.

I use this camera on my motorcycle. The thing is simple to use, the picture quality is fabulous and accessories are easy to find,
