Sony - Digital Voice Recorder

the easiest to use voice recorder out there. just plug it into your usb, a window pops up, just like a flash disk, and voila...what ever you have in you voice recorder is right at hand...copy, delete or do whatever you want to your files...its a breeze. don't have to go through the hassle of converting files or anything. Sound quality is phenomenal. the recorder takes every sound around it, even the ones you don't hear normally...so make sure to use low frequency cut feature if you are recording in a noisy environment or decrease its sensitivity to low or medium...you'll get hang of it in no time. if this product fits you budget, don't think twice.

This recorder works very well. Sound quality comes out EXCELLENT. I primarily use this for church services including music and voice(solo). I can also use it for other things, and using it is pretty easy. If you don't understand something the manual is easy to refer to and helps understanding greatly. If you need something like this, go for THIS.

I really like this device. It's pretty easy to use. There are a lot of options for settings. I would play with all of them to get the sound quality and charge life you like. One of the settings made me sound like a robot. That didn't work. I couldn't understand myself. My only concern is how long will the charge last? It doesn't use batteries which I like, but what happens if the charge is exhausted? I haven't used up the charge yet, but am still not sure how long it will last.

I BELONG TO A PARANORMAL GROUP AND I BOUGHT IT FOR THAT REASON. IT IS VERY EASY TO USE. I DIDN'T LIKE THE EDITING SOFTWARE THAT CAME WITH IT BUT FOR ME I WANTED SOMETHING THAT I COULD EDIT THE SOUND WAVES. DO YOU WATCH GHOST HUNTERS? YOU KNOW WHERE THEY LISTEN TO RECORDINGS AND THEY WATCH THE VOICE RECORDINGS WHERE PEAKS GO UP AND DOWN FROM VOICES? THIS DIDN'T HAVE THAT BUT I GOT ONE FREE OFF THE NET SO I CAN LISTEN TO RECORDINGS, CUT OUT WHAT I WANT ETC. THIS RECORDER PICKS UP EVERYTHING! I HAD IT OUTSIDE AND PLAYING IT BACK THE BIRDS SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE RIGHT NEXT TO ME. I LIVE IN A TWO STORY HOUSE, 4 BEDROOMS. I PLACED IT IN THE CENTER BACK WALL OF THE HOUSE. I TALKED IN EVERY ROOM, EVEN A CLOSET WHICH IS UNDER THE STAIRS AND I HEARD MYSELF IN EVERY ROOM.

Records in stereo from outside mic or line. It would be nice to have more control over recording level though. It only has three settings. Also, USB rechargeable battery is a nice feature.

I'm only recommending this item because it has one major flaw in my opinion, which might be acceptable for others. This device has all the features that the average person would ever need and then some. The reason why I'm taking this device back is because it has tiny sound for playback. It shouldn't come as a surprise because it does have a small speaker on it, but I was hoping it would prove me wrong. Once you get the volume up slightly past half way it starts to crackle and believe me, you have to turn it up that high just to get an acceptable volume leveI. I compared it against a Panasonic RR-US360 that I own, which blew away the Sony in playback volume and clarity. I plan on checking out the Sony ICDPX820 as I've read in the online manual that it has a fairly larger speaker, which should mean bigger sound.
