This new player makes an excellent media center. It's great to have all of my CD's loaded in CD quality sound on one device. When paired with the app remote it is very easy and convenient to select and switch between tracks. Loading all your music at CD quality AIFF format does take time but sounds great.

I'm blown away by the level of quality in both build and sound! The initial loading of my music was slow, but it is to be expected when you are copying over a thousand songs via wifi. I no longer need to bother with apple tv or chromecast. The app is also very intuitive. Definitely a winner by Sony.

It is so nice to not have to have to mess around with Apple TV or Google Play. Just having all of my music on this Sony Hi-Res player is a dream. The music also sound fantastic! The colorful screen with album art looks so good with the rest of my components. The build is top notch. I expect this player will remain with my stable for many years.

QuestionFor music play back, can the Sony HAPZ1ES be set up to play an entire album, both with and without gaps between the individual tracks?

- Answer Yes, you can certainly play an entire album, if you wish. You can also choose your music by track or by artist. The playback typically follows the source material. In other words, if you copy a CD into the player, it will play the tracks according to the separation on the CD itself. You can, however, set it for gapless playback. I can tell you that the player is a sweet piece of audio equipment. We love ours. But please note that it is not a media player for streaming your music over WIFI. It does stream Spotify and Tune-in Radio, but it only plays music that has been copied to the player. On the other hand, it does allow you to copy music via your WIFI network.

QuestionWill it play ATRAC files gaplessly? It's not explicitly stated. Sony can't answer. Incomprehensible not to given ATRAC is Sony's proprietary format that's inherently gapless and the reason I went with Sony long before Ipods played gaplessly.
