Goodbye iMac!
||Posted .I bought my VAIO Tap-20 to replace an iMac that I once thought was the best computer ever. Sorry, Apple, Sony has outpaced you. My Tap-20 is faster than the iMac, runs the software I need most, and frankly looks better on my desk. It also looks better on my lap, on the conference table, or anywhere else I want to use it, thanks to the fact I can unplug it and use the built-in long-life battery -- the Tap-20 actually functions as a very good tablet when I'm not using it as my desktop computer. Apple, it's been nice but you just don't cut it any more.

ok for general computing but thats it
||Posted .After bringing this computer home I was excited to plug it in and get started. i found this computer to be very slow compared to my iMac. I expected it to be a bit slower and was ok with that as my intentions were to use it for general things like email, banking, ect. The main problem i had with it was that It would lose the connection to the wireless router almost every time I tried to log on. I would have to reboot it in order for it to find the wireless access points each time i woke it up. Best Buy said that it was due to it's power saving mode because it's trying to save power for the battery side. This was not good for me so i returned it for a different model.

Terrific for at home needs
||Posted .I love my new Sony Vaio. I had a Sony Vaio that lasted for 11 years. It finally gave up the ghost so I went computer shopping. I was thinking of getting a new tablet/laptop hybrid (aka Envy, Ultrabook, etc.) yet all the reviews said they worked well as one, but not the other. I figured it was time to test drive so I went to Best Buy to see them in person. I wasn't fully satisfied with what I saw. I was going to look at iPads when I passed the display for the Sony Vaio Tap 20. I was curious, and the more I learned the happier I became. I wanted it for my apartment, for streaming shows, for email, etc, and for Office and other computer tasks. It was perfect for what I need. I am extremely happy and satisfied. I am still learning Windows 8, but if you are used to using a tablet, it is not hard to learn. I do wish I could use Google Play apps on it. I love taking it to the bedroom or the dining table to stream shows! I give it 4 1/2 stars! I do recommend getting another power supply cord as the battery when watching shows is about 3 hours. I have a cord in my bedroom and one at my desk.

Great Computer for family
||Posted .I wanted to purchase an all-in-one computer this go around. This computer is that plus has the capability of moving so it was perfect for me. I first fell in love with the look, the mouse and keyboard reminds me of a mac but without the price tag. Once I read reviews and tested this in the store, I knew it was right for my family and I. Since owning it, I have not experienced any problems, no lagging etc. The set up was easy and my son and I use it all the time. The only thing I wish it had were a cd/dvd rom and perhaps came with an extra battery, but not a biggie.

Easy, fun, tablet and computer
||Posted .Thus far I have been very impressed with this computer/tablet. I have only had it since the end of June 2013 but have not had any issues besides trying to get used to Microsoft 8. At first I was not so concerned nor cared if I got a touch screen/tablet type computer but for the price I decided to go with this one and I am glad I did...I have liked the features more than I thought I would. My only complaint would be that I wish it had a CD/DVD disk drive--but you can buy a separate device and plug it into the USB so I guess that works

Its like having a desktop/touch pad
||Posted .Some APPs are slow-kicks me out sometimes. I like that my key board can be use feet away from the screen. The first desktop i bought was bad i had to return it to get this one, i do have problems with the key board and the sound isn't perfect . I can live with slow APPS, not so much of them anyways, and can live with opening a new email with Microsoft to use the APPs.

Nice all in one unit that works well
||Posted .I like this all-in-one system since it has a small footprint and the wireless mouse and keyboard are integrated with the computer so there are no wires or things to plug in. The screen is a nice size but would be nicer with higher resolution. Performance is good but does get a little bogged down when windows does their updates, which are unfortunately too frequent. The speakers are better than most, but are located in the rear of the screen which makes the sound somewhat odd and artificial, but better than most notebooks. I don't use the touch screen much, but I like it better than the ones I used on 17" notebooks, mostly because I can be closer due to the small keyboard size. The keyboard has great touch and feel. Overall, the computer is better integrated than what I have used in the past, i.e. HP, Gateway.

Great picture, good touch calibration
||Posted .Beautiful overall display good crisp picture perfect button selection everytime computer works great with windows 8 doesnt seem to run slow or have any bugs that I've had happen so far. I like the sleek look that the monitor has when I bought it I thought it came with a tower but it had all of that in the back!! My mind was blown I haven't bought a new desktop in years and I found a gret deal on this model because it was the floor model, I originally bought a laptop and found that it didn't come with a disk drive built in either so I took it back n found this sony for the same price I had to but the external disc drive but that was only an extra 30 so overall I'm very happy to have bought this product.

Q: QuestionHow can I get the computer to stop disconnecting from the network and stating that the network cable is loose or non-existent?My modem/wireless network connection works on all other computer systems and other mobile devices, but this computer constantly disconnects from the network stating that the network cable is loose or non-existent. It will not reconnect to the wireless router until I restart the computer 5 or 6 times. I have removed all blue tooth and wireless devices from the room retested it, but it keeps on disconnecting from the network. Is there a way to fix it?
Asked by Sjean34.
- A:Answer If you are able to get an Internet connection but have dropped connections or low signal strength, download and install any SmartWi Connection Utility or VAIO Smart Network Utility update and any wireless adapter driver update available. Software and driver updates for your Sony product are available online. For further troubleshooting steps you may refer to the link below. https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41882
