    Synopsis

    Step Up
An aspiring ballerina from a wealthy family learns some lessons about both dancing and life from a roughneck with soul in this teen drama. Tyler Gage (Channing Tatum) grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in a rough section of Baltimore, and has been in and out of trouble with the law most of his life. Finding himself before the judge yet again, Tyler is sentenced to 200 hours of community service, and he ends up mopping floors at the Maryland School of the Arts. Tyler catches the eye of Nora (Jenna Dewan), a gifted ballet student who is trying to incorporate hip-hop moves into her classical routines. None of Nora's fellow students seem to be on the same page as her, but Tyler is a talented street dancer with strength, moves, and enthusiasm. Despite the misgivings of the school's administrators, Nora persuades Tyler to team up with her for a major class project. Tyler gains a new self-respect as he gives in to the discipline of the dance academy, but he wonders if this new opportunity means turning his back on who he really is. Matters become all the more complicated when Tyler and Nora realize they're falling in love. Step Up was the first directorial credit for choreographer Anne Fletcher, who designed dance routines for the films Bring It On, She's All That, and Boogie Nights. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

      Greatest Movie Ever

This movie will have you and your family grooving to the music of Sean Paul ft. Keisha Cole, among many other artists. In addition, the movie is so heartfelt Tyler Gage is a gifted street dancer but his attitude often gets the best of him, until he shows his sensitive side when he meets ballet dancer Nora from the academy of the arts. Gage shows that he can accomplish great things in his life if he believes in himself as well as if someone is willing to give him a chance to achieve his goal. Truly a classic movie to add to anyone collection this movie illustrates both heart and soul and that we're not suppose to judge someone how on they appear on the outside but show them that they too can accomplish something great.

Bought the Blu-ray disc to upgrade from my DVD that I've had for over 10 years. Channing and Jenna do a great job with the passion and tension between them. I think this movie is what helped get both their careers going, but that obviously is just an opinion. Both have been a success since though. Enjoy the romance and drama in this film and see how it all started!

While it is more of a movie in the romantic vein, there is a enough drama and character development to make it palatable for most people. Channing showed a side that I did not realize he had. This movie is similar to many of the other dance movies and shows as well as having some characteristics of the Twilight movies.

This movie has an excellent story line. It includes a lot of dancing, primarily hip hop and ballet. I personally liked the movie for it's up beat dancing and love story. Also, it focuses on a success story about a young man who is faced with poverty and violence which I find very inspiring. It's an excellent movie for a teenage audience.

For some reason I like dance movies, and I don't know why. The reason I bought this movie is because I am completist and I had to have it finish my Step-Up movie series. The movie itself isn't as good as the other movies since it doesn't have the fun dance battles, but is a good start to the franchise.

The Step Up movie series never fails when it comes to smooth dance movies with a little bit of drama and romance. The plot is more or less the same in each movie, so nothing new there.

I'm a sucker for the dancing and the music in these movies, of course, Channing Tatum doesn't hurt in this one either. The movies aren't going to blow your mind but they are super fun to watch, great addition to my movie collection and good for girls nights as well.

This was one of the first dance themed movies I watched and actually liked. Channing and Jenna do a fantastic job portraying two dancers from different sides of the tracks coming together for the sake of dance and in the process falling in love.
