    Stott Pilates: Essential Matwork
    Like other Stott Pilates training programs, this one emphasizes the importance of strengthening all of the abdominal muscle groups and not just the outer ones so often targeted by generic workout routines. Students are instructed to concentrate on contracting their abdominal muscles as they repeat various exercises and attempt to gracefully move their bodies into the same positions demonstrated by the instructor. Viewers will need to have already built up significant strength in their torso in order to generate the stamina and endurance required by this program. Additional routines also work the thighs.
