Black Stallion A Great Movie to Watch
|Posted .The Black Stallion DVD is a wonderful Christmas Gift Choice for my grandson. I saw this movie several times and am thrilled that Best Buy offered this purchase at such a reasonable price. The story of this young boy and the affection and awe that he and the horse had together was simply marvelous. Very touching movie to watch with some other great actors in it such as Mickey Rooney. Would greatly recommend this purchase to anyone who wants to watch a heartwarming story.

Wonderful for ALL AGES
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is such a wonderful film for all ages; the rare "children's film" that's as serious as any adult fare. Criterion has met their usual high standards for crystal clear picture and sound, and the timeless story is one everyone can enjoy. Highly recommended.

Loved the movie
|Posted .I had seen this movie previously and wanted my 8 year old grandson to see it. It was on on-demand one evening and I taped at my home. He saw it and loved it so I ordered his copy for him to take home and watch with his parents. It is wholesome, beautifully photographed, and is about a very special relationship between a boy and this lovely wild arabian stallion who were marooned on an island.

Best quality print on Criterion Bluray!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAt first I was skeptical after owning the MGM DVD and a couple of other video transfers over the years. The picture transfer is better than I expected. For a picture shot on film more than 20 years ago - you would expect plenty of graininess. The only grain I could detect were typical in night time exposures. Well worth the purchase - the sound and music score make this one of the better purchases for a classic film that stands the test of time. Well done!

Good feeling film for young and old alike ...
|Posted .I defy anyone who can walk away after viewing "The Black Stallion" without a smile on their face. The cinematography is superb, Rooney and Reno are outstanding and perfectly matched. I own few movies these days, but BS is a must have in anyone's collection. I gave my original to my grand-daughter for her last birthday. Cheers!

Superb Cinematography!
|Posted .I remember watching this film when I was 8 years old and this movie captured my heart between a boy and a black stallion. There was hardly any dialog in the film but it didn't matter, because the bond between the boy and the horse speaks from the heart, and the Cinematography and the musical score was exceptional! Highly recommended!
