Record detailed footage with this THINKWARE Wi-Fi dash cam bundle. The dash cam and built-in microphone record in 4K UHD resolution with clear audio, and the 32GB microSD card holds hours of videos. This THINKWARE Wi-Fi dash cam bundle includes a rear view camera with a 156-degree field of view for wide-ranging coverage.
A: It does have parking mode recording (must be hardwired to function, as plugging into a 12v cigarette lighter port is not constant power). It has a few built-in modes for that. Timelapse will record low FPS constant video, Impact detection (only starts recording about 1 sec after impact, so no video leading up to impact), and motion detection (which starts recording when motion is detected, doesn't require impact so can capture vandalism). An add-on radar module is available from Thinkware, which will activate the camera when a large object (like a car, not a person) is detected. It will record the video if an impact is detected during that time (10 seconds before and after impact). The radar will allow the u1000 to run in the best power saving mode during parking mode, so it last the longest time. To further increase the time it can run in park mode (since drawing power from the car battery will eventually lower it enough that the camera will have to power down so it doesn't fully drain it and you can't start the car), there are also a number of battery pack options available. Those will give you the longer parking mode run time and not drain the car battery at all while off (as they recharge when the car is running).
Q: What exactly is in the box please?
A: Hello Kirk, Included with this bundle is the Thinkware U1000 Front and Rear Camera's, Rear Camera Cable, Hardwiring Cable, 32GB Thinkware MicroSD Card, Adhesive Mount, Replacement Adhesive and Wire Clips.
Q: If I buy dash camera from Best Buy, do you guys give free installation?
A: Hello I don't work for Best Buy but I purchased this model dash cam there and I am very well pleased with it. To answer your question I think you have to pay for installing the camera system. I installed this camera system myself (It was not that hard to install) but this is the 3rd camera system that I have had in my vehicles and when I inquired about installation on one of the previous ones Best Buy told me there would be a charge for installing it. You should probably call your local Best Buy store and ask them about an installation charge just to be sure. I hope this information has been helpful.
A: I used a 256GB card with no issues. Inserted, it was recognized and formatted with appropriate space available.
A: Hello There, The U1000 has a built-in Voltmeter and Record Timer to power down the Dash Cam if the battery is too low. The U1000 also has our Energy Savings 2.0 which is able to stay powered for up to 24 days when away from the vehicle.
A: Hi There, if you prefer to not hardwire it, you can use the OBD Cable or the cigarette port. However, only the hardwiring and the OBD cable will enable Parking Mode. If using a cigarette port with constant power, the Dash Cam will stay on when the vehicle is off, but won't go into Parking Mode, and this may cause battery drainage, as in Parking Mode, the Dash Cam has a battery protection feature to avoid battery drainage.
A: Hello There, you won't need new wires, you will be able to use the same hardwiring kit you already have installed!
A: I've never had any issues with interference with Thinkware Cameras. I've multiple cameras in multiple vehicles.
