Q: Does this plan include MQA ?
A: Sorry, this specific plan does not. Tidal's HiFi tier will play up to CD Quality at 1411 kbps. This is currently the highest quality for iTunes and Amazon Music. Spotify isn't there quite yet. To listen in MQA you will need to purchase HiFi Plus which has a sound quality up to 9216 kbps. To unfold the tracks at this rate, you will need a decent DAC (digital to analog converter) and a great set of wired headphones. Plus an extra $50 per year to Tidal. Even with AptX HD, Bluetooth simply doesn't have the bandwidth for greater than 1411 at 16 bit (I think).
A: No. It is for new users only and you have to pay Best buy for Tidal account and not Tidal. This is best buy subscription
A: 5 Plus 1 for yourself Tidal's Family Plan essentially includes 6 licenses. Luckily, they are very generous. I have my license installed on a Mac, iPhone, iPad, and directly on my DAC (through Hidizs). All of these use a total of only one license.
Q: Can this be used on an existing account? It doesn't state either way but does say its nonrefundable.
A: I was able to successfully upgrade from a $1.00, 3-month Tidal HiFi plan to their 12-month HiFi Plus Family plan through BestBuy. However, if you are going like-to-like plan, I was told by a Tidal rep that their system blocks you from accomplishing this. Granted this was 11 months ago. I would reach out to Tidal for a quick response.
