Toshiba great quality 4K UHD
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I decided to purchase my first Toshiba brand of television with the new 50” C350 LED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV. The first unit that I purchased was defective or damaged in shipping to the store because it would not power on. I was able to easily exchange the television for another which worked perfectly. I really liked the beautiful picture that the Toshiba C350 produced with the 4K LCD screen. The design of the Toshiba is attractive and lighter to pick up than I expected. It has a great connection panel on the backside to use for USB, HDMI, or other ways to stream channels. I liked the fact that the television had many of my favorite apps already loaded on it and I just had to sign into the apps to retrieve my favorite content. I also was happy that the remote control has Prime, Netflix, Disney, and Hulu on it for easy access to those services. The Toshiba C350 produces wonderful sound effects on its own with settings for different types of media you may be watching and want to experience a certain type of quality. I decided to pair the television to my soundbar so I could make the setup loud like a nice home theater environment. I have been enjoying several new streaming services on the television and have my favorite shows to binge-watch on Netflix. I would highly recommend the television to my friends, family, and co-workers. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

A great, perfect size TV!
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I am very happy with the purchase of my new Toshiba 50" LED 4K Smart Fire TV. I love having the ability to speak into the remote and and easily get the programming I want right up on the screen. I still need to practice with it a little bit more, but I know I will master it soon. It was very easy to get connected to my new smart DVD player as well. They both were easy to find each other, and now I can use the remote from either one to control the other one. I had an older 65" TV and was glad to upgrade to this newer, smaller one. With my grown up children out of the house now, I just didn't feel the need to have a TV that big anymore, and in fact prefer this smaller size. All in all, I would recommend this TV!

Pleasant surprise!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This was a find. I am well aware that it is not a high end tv. It's a basic flat screen. But let me tell you, I don't regret buying it. It's easy to use and the picture is great. Yes, the blacks and darks suck, but I knew that before buying it. I bought this tv to hold me over until the 75" top of spectrum tv is purchased. I can use my headphones and there is no problem with syncing. For the price point, the picture, sound, ease of use, and the fact that it is a TOSHIBA, make it a really great buy. If you want a crisp picture, I wouldn't buy bigger than 50." I recommend this TV. I also purchased a 24" Insignia Fire TV in January for our kitchen. No issues or complaints there either. If you want something simple, great picture, decent sound and at a great price, then buy it.

My new 50 in Toshiba television

The salesman at the store did not tell us if we had cable we were going to have to use two remotes to turn the television on and obe to change tbe chanel. We did not know this till the cable company came to connect the television and they told us this and showed us how to do it

- A:Answer I purchased this model at Best Buy a week ago, and have yet to see any exterior operating controls. So, my assumption/answer would be, no, it can not be turned on or off or operated without the remote, or the cable or satellite receiver remote paired to the tv.

Q: Question? Headset for Sound ? -- My dad lives in a senior facility and isn't allowed to turn up the sound very high. What should I buy that works with this television so that he can get sound wirelessly with a headset adapter?

- A:Answer Confirm the TV supports bluetooth and you can buy any wireless bluetooth headset and pair it to the TV. The only caveat I can think of is that on my FireStick that I added to another TV recently it did not allow for volume control once paired to the bluetooth, which is a big pain and well documented out there. This being a FireTV it may have that same issue so just something to consider.

Q: QuestionHow do you turn on (or off) closed-captions, especially when viewing a video on the USB drive? I don't see it anywhere in settings or options.

- A:Answer Go to Settings menu either by pressing home then scroll the menu to the right and Settings is the last item on the top menu. Or if using the voice button just say "switch to settings". Move the selection highlight down using the circle button ( it works like a game controller) then scroll to the right ( circle button to the right) to option "Accessibility" with the icon image of a person with their arms extended. Select it by pressing the center of the circle button. Menu changes and first option is Closed Caption.

Q: QuestionThe TV powers itself off when inactive for several minutes, sometimes while paused on a video. This seems like a power saving feature, but I can't find a setting for it anywhere. How do I turn this feature off or at least increase the timeout period?

- A:Answer I did further research on this and found a setting for "screensaver", which I initially thought was like a screensaver on a computer. It was set apparently by default for 15 minutes. Changing this setting to "never" solved the problem.
