An amazing phone for the price

The J3 Mission is such an amazing phone like the title says. It has a 1.4GHZ Quad Core Snapdragon 425 Processor (for all the tech savvy people out there) it has Dual Wi-Fi bands which is unheard for a phone of this price range. Wi-Fi works amazing no problems at all. Phone runs very smooth. No random issues at all. And theres Mobile Hotspot for those of you who love to use it. And no theres no NFC. Oh well you'll live. The phone has 16GB of memory (9.87 left to user which is plenty I think) memory is expandable to 256GB. And the phone also has a 2600 mAh battery which so far has been amazing for me. And because the J3 Mission runs on android 7.0 (not 7.1.1 but its something) the battery does last. Also I LOVE that when you slide down the notification bar from the top of the screen, it shows Wi-Fi and it shows the up and down data arrows meaning you can turn data off and on from the notification area. Meaning instead of going through the Settings and pressing a ton of buttons to get to the data to turn it on or off, just turn it on through the Notification area. SOO helpful. I also LOVE the Advanced Calling feature. Meaning it has HD Voice & Video Calling or HD Voice. You obviously cant choose both. But I love that you can hear someone else clearly in HD as long as the other persons phone also supports HD Voice. And you have to make sure its activated in Settings. Youd see it. The phone has 5MP rear cam w/Full HD 1080P video recording and a 2MP front cam w/flash...sort of...the phone simulates the flash by completely lighting up the screen. Its cool I guess. and 720P recording along side the 2MP cam. As for the quality? Excellent quality. Love the picture details. The sound from the video recordings ive done sound excellent for a budget phone. Now as for call quality? id give that a super solid 8.5-9 out of 10. VERY excellent quality. I heard people clear as day without issues. Same with me. They heard me excellent. Phone has run extremely smooth for me. Not a single issue. Anyways if you want to see my unboxing I did (my first one and most likely the only one) then type in Verizon Prepaid Samsung Galaxy j3 Mission 4G LTE and you should see GTX970. That's me. As of this typing its only that unboxing. But ill be doing a review soon and a picture/video samples. Hope this review helps. Sorry its so long.

      upgrade

i upgraded to this phone from a galaxy j1 prepaid through verizon. i mainly upgraded because my j1 kept giving me error codes about storage ( i had plenty) and because for some reason it kept freezing. this phone is bigger than my previous phone. and it works alot faster. it has an excellent camera and it was easy to switch my files using an sd card. the cons to this phone - unless you purchase a theme from samsung all your back grounds are white on white with minimal colors, which hurts the eyes, more colors and less eye strain. they may think this is being clean cut but its just hurtful. the alarm works great somewhat too great.. it doesnt cut off by itself after 1-2 mins. it keeps going . however i like that this alarm speaks the time when it goes off. still in 2018 after everyone born in the last 30 yrs is aware of how to download an app verizon still adds bloatware to its phones. no i dont need 3 apps that tell me the weather and the nfl scores. however no social media apps are pre downloaded. however this phone is nice for the budget minded people or those still wishing to break into the smart phone market. or for 1st phone users. at the price point its way less than its $500 competitor but still wont break the bank if it gets lost stolen or broken.

I'm not interested in contracts, temporary deals or any of the sneaky stuff carriers try to pull. If you want to pay a fixed price once a month on a good phone that doesn't cost ridiculous amounts of money, consider this Samsung model. The 16 gigs of internal memory is a bit misleading, since almost half of it is eaten up by the OS. But the micro-SD slot holds my 128gb card, which is more than enough space. The phone's processor is speedy and the display is at least as good as phones costing 4x the price. At less than $100, if the phone breaks or the screen becomes damaged, just toss it and buy another. There's a certain freedom to that, which you will not get with an $800 phone. Sometimes the things we own end up owning us, either from the cost, the vigilance required to keep an eye on it or the worrying about damage. Not with this phone. It does anything you need a smart phone to do. I like it a bunch.

this phone does quite a bit more than my last phone and so far has not notified me that I am out of storage space. I am not phone or computer savvy but I am able to get around on this one fairly easy. which is a big plus for me. One thing I don't like is that when I am charging my phone at night it will send a notification and turn on the phone so that it doesn't charge fully. Not sure why it does that as I have the notifications turned off.

Great phone, does everything I need. This is my second one due to the first falling out of pocket and ran over by wife. Liked it enough to buy again. The only thing I wish was better is that the screen doesn't auto dim. Screen brightness can be moved to the top of screen when u drag down so it's not terribly inconvenient.

love love love my new phone and all its cool features! I can track my health on my new phone my steps, the microphone is so much better than the last version my only complaint is that sometime there's a delay or it doesn't recognize when I touch the screen like when taking a picture but other than that I would still use this phone!

Phone and service seem fine, but my request to port my old number was cancelled when I was unable to quickly return a voicemail to my new provider to confirm the number to be ported, which number the Best Buy sales rep was very careful to take down and convey to the new provider. Took a full week!
