Great SSD!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5i cloned my HDD into this SSD and the performance was noticeable. games, windows 10 and programs load times was reduced. highly recommended even if you have an older desktop computer you will notice a big improvement. just make sure your motherboard supports SATA connections. you can also use this on a PS4. if you wanna upgrade your hard drive to a 1TB or an SSD. this will also reduce game load times as well.

Fast low cost ssd
|Posted .Pros mentioned:PriceI purchased this to use in an Atomos Ninja V. It has no problems with the required sustained write speeds to keep up with 4K 60P Prores HQ. I have since purchased 3 additional ones. I would, so far, recommend this to anyone needing an ssd to keep up with high sustained write speeds required by high res high frame rate video

HDD to SSD conversion - Just do it!
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have purchased and installed these in each of our two laptop and two desktop computers. The Acronis software, available on the WD site works well. Just make sure you get the 2020 version. Not sure why the 2016 version is there. It would not recognize the new SSD. Other requirements: You will also likely need a USB to SATA adapter cable for the cloning process. I got the Sabrent EC-SSHD. For desktop installation, remove the cover on the case to see how the HDD is mounted. You will likely need a 3.5" to 2.5" bracket. Again, I got the Sabrent BK-HDDF. This bracket can be side or bottom mounted in the computer case. However, be advised, the new 2.5" drive is center mounted in this bracket. For case mounts where the SATA drive is offset to one side, you will need another bracket. Option: What do you do with a perfectly good HDD. a) keep it as a backup for your system, or b) get an external enclosure, reformat it, and use it as a backup data drive. I bought Sabrent EC-UASP enclosures for my two excess 2.5" HDDs. This is not rocket science. Follow the directions and you will succeed. The increase in speed over a HDD is noticeable on any computer, and is definitely worth the cost and trouble.

And awesome boost in speed compared to HDD
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Simply put, I have been using an HDD for years and I'm rather mad at myself for not upgrading earlier. I was so used to clicking on a picture that was locally stored and waiting 5-6 seconds just for it to open. Even my explorer windows were painfully slow as well as general functions. It didn't seem to matter that I had a 6 core 12 thread processor in my system because the day-to-day functions were bottle-necked by my old hard drive. Installing it is no problem since it uses the same SATA interface as the old hard drives and can be easily screwed into any drive cage. I then fully cloned my system drive to this SSD so I could use it as my (C:) Drive. Looking up a tutorial on youtube helped me to get the program I needed to clone the drive, and after that, man did this thing feel like a new computer. All I have to say is that I'm never going back to HDD's unless I need to create some kind of archival mass storage server. I just hope that they figure out how to fit more storage on these little things.

A Real Life-Saver!
|Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This SSD was a life-saver after laptop's original HDD died on me. fortunately, I had a decent back up of all my data on hand on an external USB HDD, but I was looking at a lot of time to reload all my applications. Installation of the WD SSD was simple...remove the bottom panel, remove the old drive, and put the new drive in place. That was a total of 6 screws that I had to deal with (making sure I grounded my hands and tools before touching anything). Installed Windows 10 from a system installation thumb drive I made using my wife's computer, then restored all my backed up data. I still had to install all the software, but as I had stored the installation files in my disk back ups, I started loading them once I had the data restored to the new SSD. Installing from the SSD was significantly faster than trying to do so by pulling out CDs or downloading. SSDs seemed to have a reputation for non-graceful failure after some years, but the WD Blue comes with a 5 year warranty. So, with 2 layers of back-up protection (both local on external HDD, and online), I'm willing to stick with the greater response from the SSD.

Q: QuestionI have a Gateway DX4822-01 running Win 7, a purchased copy of Win 10 on a USB drive. I would like to install the wd- blue internally, install Win 10 to it, and move user files to the Win 10 drive at my leisure. Does this sound like a plan? Any pitfalls?
Asked by bfp.
- A:Answer Different ways to do what You want done. I would go ahead and upgrade Your windows 7 to windows 10 first (keeping Your files). Then clone the old hard drive to the new wd-blue . After the cloning install the wd-blue. That way You have the older hard drive You pull out as a complete backup with windows 10 and all Your files on it.

Asked by Toz.
- A:Answer Hi Toz, The WD Blue SSDs are available in either a 2.5”/7mm cased or an M.2 2280 model to evolve with smaller and thinner computers. With form factors to accommodate most laptops, desktop PCs, and small form PCs, a WD Blue SSD is ready for the job. Moreover, we would recommend you to please contact to your motherboard or computer manufacturer to check whether the drive will fit and support. -Need Help?
