Works flawlessly with 27" iMac
I purchased my first WD MyBook Duo 4TB external Thunderbolt drive about 2 years ago in order to move my growing music & movie collections off my 1TB internal drive. Setup for the drive was very simple with the included software, and very soon I was up and running with my new RAID 1 external Thunderbolt drive. Transferring all of my digital media from the internal drive to the external was incredibly speedy and flawless. I changed the default location for my iTunes media to this external drive (and turned off "Keep My Media Organized") and it performs as if it were still the internal drive. Flawlessly.
I was so impressed with that first drive that I bought a second last year and daisy chained them together. The second drive (again RAID 1) is getting filled with personal photos and documents, and it works as flawlessly as the first drive.
I use a mid-2011 27" iMac with OS X 10.11.5 and 8GB of RAM.
