Customers are saying
Customers are delighted by the overall performance of the washing machine, although some have expressed concerns regarding the fabric load sensor system's effectiveness and the spin cycle's noise and vibration. Issues with the water level sensor and its tendency to overfill have also been reported. Several users found the machine's operation to be unexpectedly loud and shaky during the spin cycle. These issues, however, did not overshadow the positive aspects of the machine for all users.

I Can't Recommend This Washer...Sorry

I've read all the other reviews and wanted to post my own review once I actually used the washer myself. My new washer actually arrived today, but I have washed about 7 loads since I've been without one for several days. First of all, yes the fabric load sensor system really sucks. I found this out very quickly. I saw at least one other review which stated she had to babysit the machine. Well I feel the same. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my liquid Tide in the machine without affecting the sensor because it's true that once you close the lid if you raise it again, the sensor will fill the water level completely full. We all know we can't just pour the liquid detergent directly on the clothes because it will stain. What I've resorted to doing is pouring it in the empty machine, starting it just till it fills enough to dilute the water and then opening the lid once I turn it off to add my clothes. This really sucks because I can't add the detergent once the clothes are already loaded because the water won't begin to fill until the lid is closed. What a dilemma! Who in the world thought of this bright idea??? As far as getting the clothes clean, it seems to do that. I haven't experienced any lint on the clothes after the wash as some other reviewers have posted, and believe me I did check thoroughly. It's not a quiet machine folks. I was surprised that it was actually louder than my 12 year old Kenmore that just died on me. I just expected a quieter machine with all of today's technology. I guess we get what we pay for because I did get it for a very good price.
I really wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this machine due to the fabric load sensor. You can't control your water levels, and once you raise that lid to add your detergent the machine just fills all the way with water. Had I realized I could not control the water levels myself, I would have bypassed this machine.
I'm giving 3 stars due to the price and cleanliness of clothes. The rest is out the window though on this machine. Think again Whirlpool.

Huge Disappointment

This is my first "new" washer and I feel very let down. I used the washer 2x and the auto water level switch burned up (you could smell it), and I had to call for repair, after waiting 3 weeks for the part the repair man replaced the switch and the water level still fills the entire washer up even when only 1 towel was placed inside. I have now been waiting an additional 2 weeks and am being told there are no switches to be had. I was thrilled about saving water, however I have done nothing but waste water since day 1! I agree that there is a huge defect that if you lift the lid once after the machine has started the water automatically fills to the top. I am constantly adding things after the fact and had I known this would happen I would never of purchased this!

Forget trying to get a rebate on this machine because it has an Energy Star rating. You won't. After you put the soap and laundry into this machine and start it, you can't open the lid for any reason or it will fill completely up with water. It has a sensor that lightly dampens the clothes, then weighs them, then decides how much water to add. If you lift the lid, it restarts the weigh cycle, so even if you're washing 4 items, the washer fills to the top. There's no way to reset the washer. I've tried. The spin cycle is very loud and vibrates. I'd tell you how well the wash cycle works, but since I can't lift the lid and look...I don't even know if it's really working. I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this washer.

A good washing machine

We bought this washing machine a few weeks ago, so far it works fine for us on different tasks and options. It is a little bit noisy but not too bad. A couple of suggestion for users: 1. never use too much detergent than suggested, 2. if you want to open the lift, you need to pause the machine by pulling up the button; otherwise it won't save water. 3. Always level your machine. 4. If you need more water for your comforts, chose that option on the control pannel. Consider the price, energy star rating and options, it is a good investment.

Uncertainty of product

I was very excited about the washer at first. It does get the clothes very clean and takes out stains well. I am uncertain if the water level feature really works? I see water draining when it is still filling, and seems to fill a long time even with small loads. Don't like not being able to lift the lid after it has started because it resets and automatically fills it to the top with water. After a couple of months it started to be very noisy on the spin cycle especially, and then after 5 months of owning it, it quit, and will not start at all. I am thankful it is under warranty and it may be worth buying an extended 5 yr warranty if this kind of thing is going to happen often. Very frustrating with small children to not have a washing machine!!

Loud cycles, vibrates upstairs floor

Bought this in place of my front loader whirlpool washing machine, in hopes that buying an old fashioned top loader would minimize vibration (very powerful LOUD spin cycle) on my upstairs laundry room floor. Careful not to over stuff loads, after about 3 wks upstairs, this washing machine became just as shakey and squeaky as my big heavy front loader was (in the spin cycle). Bottom line, never buy a home with an upstairs laundry room...but if you are in this unfortunate situation be prepared to spend top dollar on your anti-vibrating new age washer.

Hate it!!!!

Washer was replacement for the Whirlpool I had. Geek squad repairman came out to repair old washer under warranty six times. About six weeks without a washer. Finally, replaced washer with what was suppose to be comparable. Water level sensor is a pain. If I dropped or forgot a garment, I can not add it or the water level changes. I decided to check to see how well the washer senses for water level and even if you put a very small delicate load in the washer fills a third or more of the way up. Much more than when I picked the water level and could control it. Then when I put big loads in the washer does not even fill half way. Also I have more lint on my clothes than before and the water temp sensor is either too hot or too cold. I keep adjusting the intake on the valves to control water temp. It should be easier to wash clothes not harder. I feel I have to babysit the machine. My water usage bill and sewer bill went up.

i bought this washer dryer set a litte over a year ago. first the dryer heating element went out....fuse kept blowing with no reasons...the repair man said. well then a month later this washer went out...will not spin any more....I spent the extra money and switched to whirlpool thinking it will be worth it...but don't waiste your money or time with these unless you are a repairman yourself...If you do purchase it you better get the extended warranty with it....other than that look at a diffrent brand NOT WHIRLPOOL!!!!
