A: Joy: if you read the instructions carefully, you will find the option " Clean Washer" that means you should run at least one "Clean Washer" cycle per every 30 washes and if I m not wrong there is a reminder that lights on on older models. I run my cycle every month no matter what and I use pool grade chlorine. Please be careful where do you fill chlorine (read instruction on care section). Another important rule of thumb is the use of common sense: Never leave wet laundry inside machine overnight or longer; always leave door open after you remove laundry and specially if you not going to use machine for few days!!!!. The quality of detergent you use, play an important roll on how much scum and residues are left over, lower the quality means you must clean more frequently and also an exes of fabric softener can create big problems!!!!. For now I would run a "Clean Cycle" with Chlorine and after and wearing rubber gloves, take a small rag damped with bleach and clean inside the door rubber seal. You can use Clorox wipes if you want but if is as bad as you said I will use bleach!!!! you can also read in care section on the washing machine manual and I believe should be page 17. Q: I have a whirlpool duet 4.5 cu ft washer on a pedestal. Will this washer fit on that pedestal?
A: Yes it will, I had the Duet and just had to replace the washer with this latest Whirlpool model and it fits on the pedestal perfectly.
Q: what side is the hinge on in both the washer and the dryer
A: Just received our whirlpool washer and the hinge is on the left side of the front. Didn't buy the dryer but the one on display has the hinge on the right side so you can open the washer and dryer and easily move from left to right with wet clothes.
A: Savvy, this model does not have a drain/spin cycle.
A: 36 inches should be plenty of room. Mine measures just over 36 inches from the wall, but I have it pulled forward to line up with the dryer. It could be moved back at least 3 inches. The dryer can't go back as far because of the vent.
Q: Can detergent pods be used with this model?
A: Yes, but you want to make sure that you put them directly into the tub.
A: Hi, DNCNBUG. Use only High Efficiency detergents. The package will be marked “HE” or “High Efficiency.” Low-water washing creates excessive sudsing with a non-HE detergent. Using non-HE detergent will likely result in longer cycle times and reduced rinsing performance. It may also result in component malfunction and, over time, buildup of mold or mildew. HE detergents should be low-sudsing and quick-dispersing to produce the right amount of suds for the best performance. They should hold soil in suspension so it is not redeposited onto clean clothes. Not all detergents labeled as High Efficiency are identical in formulation and their ability to reduce suds. For example, natural, organic, or homemade HE detergents may generate a high level of suds. If you use one of these and see a “SUD” error code appear in the display, consider using a different HE detergent. Always follow the detergent manufacturer’s instructions to determine the amount of detergent to use. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you.
