Good tradeoff between portability & functionality
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I consider this a selfie-stick on steroids with some gimbal-like features that can get by in a pinch. It fits a very specific need and if you are aware of limitations, you'll likely appreciate it many times over. This is a 2-axis gimbal focused on value and portability. Don't expect the stabilization of its 3-axis counterparts. To me, however, the ability to just throw it in a pocket and have it with me all the time is much more valuable than having a better gimbal that's too heavy/bulky to carry. The folding/unfolding mechanism is a bit tricky but nothing too difficult after a few practices. The app, albeit intrusive, has many cool features. One feature I used the most is the pano mode which takes near perfect panoramic photos every time. The extendable arm is special and much more useful than you think. Overall, I recommend this product.

Gimbal Review
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While compact and portable this gimbal has a few points it can be improved on, and is in the higher tier models. This gimbal only works on a 2 axis system, therefore not helping with stability of motion but working well for turning and panning shots. Much of the functionality is also dependent on the companies software, and while it isn't as broken as some say, the app lacks stability and has some pretty bad latency. Overall I would say unless you're getting this for a really good deal spring for higher tier model as this one falls somewhat short.

Great selfy stick with bells and whistles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The gimble is great for the pricebeasy to use. The app is a bit to understand. But works to a degree with out it body and face tracking works gòod and hold a charge well built in tripod is great also. We bought this before going to California as a fancier selfy stick I liked it so much that after our rental car qas broke into and stuff stolen I bought another the next day.

You get what you pay for but this is nice
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only just got this but upon initial playing with it, it will work for my purposes. I'm a TV reporter and this will work fine for shooting b-roll, plus the extension will help me do stand ups when I don't have a coworker with me. I bought this after my DJI Mobile 2 kicked the bucket. This is comparable. I don't think I'll miss the 3rd axis for my puposes tbh. You can turn it up or down using the selfie stick part and your in app camera will smooth the footage down enough that it won't matter. You can use this without the app once it's registered. I haven't tried using it without registration. You have to flip the phone part on the side in order to get it to work. I was confused by that and I can see someone getting frustrated and thinking it was bricked because of that. I mean, yeah there are misspellings in the app and the directions but this is a Chinese product made in Hong Kong so I'm OK with it. I've been to Hong Kong and I've seen worse misspellings on credible products XD The company seems nice enough too with all the notices for customer support they put in the packaging. DJI on the other hand has crap customer service and won't help you fix anything. Can you tell I'm jaded? Lol The app is nice. I could see it being great for making short snackable videos for the web too though I haven't tried it for that purpose yet. In comparison to DJI, this app is way less bulky as DJI'S includes data for their drones for some crappy reason and that takes a lot of space and ram. Only difference I can tell on first glance is you can't go Facebook Live on this app, like you can with DJI but even when I used my stabilizer for fb live in the past i haven't used DJI'S app because the lag and battery usage was unbearable if I tried to do that. So yeah, I'm happy with it overall for now. If things change I will update this review.

Good 2-Axis Smartphone Stabilizer
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, the Zhiyun Smooth X is a good smartphone gimbal stabilizer for those on a budget. There are better 3-axis gimbal stabilizers out there, but for those who only use their smartphones to takes videos or take selfies occasionally, this is the best solution you can get.

Small package with big issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this gimbal. I watched a few Youtube tests from the bigger tech reviewers who all praised this given the price, simple use, and final results. Sadly, they along with many reviewers here, over exaggerate the actual results when using this gimbal while the price and rather simpleness come with hidden issues. The pros right off the bat are the price, lightweight material, and simple-to-use aspect. That's about it. Right off the bat, something none of the Youtube reviewers mentioned, this gimbal requires the Zhiyun app to function. Not a big deal, right? Considering most gimbals do. But here's the catch - in order for you to use the app to use the gimbal, you need to create an account, connect to wi-fi, connect to Bluetooth, and enable locations tracking. Now, those reviewers, including myself, were able to use the stock camera on my phone (Iphone XS Max), and luckily you can turn off location services. BUT, every time you try to use the app, it will annoy you with pop-ups asking to enable wi-fi and location services. Sure it might not be a big deal, but you can't even use your own phone camera unless and until you actually open up the Zhiyun app. That is just an unnecessary hassle and just why are they so demanding for your location and wi-fi use? Bluetooth is bad enough as it drains your battery which is also unnecessary because the zoom function only works in the app. So unlike other simple gimbals, they may cost more but you can use it right out of the box. Now the reason this is so inexpensive is the two-axis versus typical three-axis. One reviewer I watched - PotatoJet - showed results without any apparent post-film-stabilization. Quite frankly, I think he did use a post-edit software because I still noticed quite a bit of shakiness and "step" movements on my recent trip to Disneyland using this device. Was it as bad as not having the gimbal? No. But it was not such a significant improvement from just using a Joby gorillapod that justifies even a $40 gimbal like this. I can do without the three-axis but then you can barely move the ball-head slightly forward and the legs are not all that strong. It is great to have that tripod feature but the legs are weak and merely adjusting the extension pushes down on the legs more than they should go. And yes, I know with a lower price it will bring a small motor, but the lag between actually moving the directional stick to the gimbal rotating is way too long and slow. I returned this 3 days after ordering and just one day of use.

Q: QuestionIs it compatible with IPhone SE?
Asked by Dee.
- A:Answer Zoom or gestures will work only with its proprietary camera app. Only basic clicking function works with built in camera app. (Practically usable only if you take picture using their app. You will lose iPhone’s features. Grip too thin to hold any phone with a case (won’t even hold with a slim case).
