Good Quality 50" TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has a very good picture. Can't beat it for the price considering it was the same price as the 47" model.

A steal at $350.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic picture once tweaked for personal preference. Audio delay from optical out (which must be set to RAW, not PCM for 5.1), but this is avoided by sending signal directly from cab/sat box to sound system. I'm not one who minds the hyper-realism of 120 Hz on most material but it is easily defeated by those who do.

VERY VERY HAPPY Great Buy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this TV going on two weeks now and I could not be more happy. I purchased this TV because a majority of the reviews were positive with only a few that were bad. Sure this is Insignia and the quality may not be a Samsung or LG but I knew this when I purchased. As for the picture...it is AWESOME. The factory settings out of the box were pretty bad but after a little research I used the following settings: Picture: Backlight - 50 Brightness - 50 Contrast - 50 Color - 50 Tint - 0 Sharpness - 0 Advanced Settings: Overscan - Off Dynamic Backlight - Off Insignia Motion - Off (my preference) Color Temp - Normal Noise Reduc - Off Adaptive Contrast - On After entering these settings I have to say I can not tell the difference between this and my brother-in-law's 55 inch Samsung. Like I said before, I know its an Insignia how long it will last? Only time will tell - but for only $69 for a five year warranty - cant go wrong. I bought this on sale for $350 and saved nearly $300 from what I was looking at. Worth the gamble in my opinion. Couldn't be more happy - the picture is unbelievable. Hope this helps!

Affordable sleek tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has a nice glass base mount and is very nice compared to other TV's i have compared it to. It only took about 5 minutes to have set up and ready to go. I upgraded from a 42" 1080p TV and the sound is drastically better. This TV is one of the most affordable 50" TVs i have seen.

Good tv for a novice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV arrived with a screen defect and best buy exchanged it no problem for another one. The insignia TV works well with a good picture and decent sound. This is my second insignia TV now and they seem to hold up well. If you want a big screen TV like this but don't want to spend tons for all the fancy features and just want decent sound and picture you can't go wrong with buying this one. And this is the first time I have ever bothered to review an item so you know I believe it is worth the money!

Great 2nd TV for my bedroom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently visited Best Buy for my first time searching for a new TV. I had never purchased from Best Buy before as I always had purchased these items from other sources. The Best Buy sales person was very helpful with explaining the different features of the various TVs. I ended up purchasing TWO TVs. A 55 inch smart TV for my living room and this 50 inch Insignia for my bedroom. It has a wonderful picture and I couldn't be more satisfied for a 2nd TV in my home. This is a very good set for the money.

Fantastic Picture for the Price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having owned this 50" LED TV for slightly over a month, I must say I am very well impressed! I am aware of the fact that, considering its price, Insignia is not one of the top name brands out there; hence, I managed my expectations accordingly. I must say, however, that I was not disappointed at all. After tweaking the settings a bit, I am very much satisfied with the picture quality. I am hoping that this unit will last me a long, long time.

Great 50" TV in 1080P for discounted price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the day after Christmas for $379 and so far (ALMOST 30 DAYS) has worked great. Can change picture, etc. settings for different inputs. Great picture when you know how to adjust. Needed to replace a DLP in 720P that was 7 years old used mostly in gameroom for TV & Playstation gaming. Some reviews had issues, but took a chance to save money. So far so good. Very pleased & hope it continues working well. 3 HDMI inputs, Component / composite. Decent remote.

Q: QuestionManufacturer?Who is the actual manufacturer of this TV? I read somewhere it's LG. Is that true?
Asked by Tiger.
- A:Answer Actually Insignia is produced by a Chinese company using parts from mostly name brand manufacturers. For example you may have a Samsung circuit board and an LG panel, or it may be visa versa. The Tv has a good picture for the money, I saw one on display not too long ago.

Q: QuestionHow well would this TV work when used as a computer monitor for viewing webinars?
Asked by Gary.
- A:Answer This can not be used a standard computer monitor as it does not have that type of connection. If you are connecting to a machine that has HDMI, then it would work. I watch my standard DVD's via my laptop by HDMI and the image and sound is fantastic. The high refresh rate of 120hz would be a great fit as a monitor, but only if your are connecting via HDMI.

Q: Questionexternal speakersIv'e asked this before but.....is it possible to connect my own speakers to this tv.? not a sound bar, just some box speakers I have, what do I need to do it , and how ?
Asked by GJD.
- A:Answer I assume you could as their are your typical white, yellow, red outputs on the back, assuming that is what most external speakers are. There is also an 'audio out' connection. The sound on the built in speakers is pretty good though so I have never purchased speakers.
