Specs
Can this camera be ceiling mounted? Can it be powered by low voltage Cat6 wire? And what happens if I install two on opposite sides of a large room - will the cameras communicate? Will I get a single feed or simply two opposite views? Thank you!
Answered by RingHi DumbDad123. Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. The Ring Indoor Cam Plus supports ceiling mounting. The mounting plate included with the camera features a built-in slide mechanism that allows it to be attached to a ceiling. Regarding power, this is a plug-in camera that connects to your network via Wi-Fi, not through the ethernet cable itself. It requires 5V DC, 2A (10W) delivered through USB-C. As for using two cameras on opposite sides of a room, each camera operates independently and connects to Wi-Fi separately. They will not communicate with each other or produce a combined feed. You would get two separate views, each with its own motion alerts and recordings, viewable individually in the Ring app. We invite you to reach out to our community if any additional information is needed regarding your question.
