Description
Features
The Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition contains:
- Year 1 Pass: four new Specialists (one per Season), four Battle Passes (one per Season), and three Epic Skin Bundles (Blistered Earth, Tempest, and Cold Blood)
- Cross-Gen Bundle
World transformed by disorder
In 2042, extreme weather events and resource conflicts have shifted the balance of global power. The United States and Russia stand at the brink of war, while a mix of Non-Patriated combat veterans form independent groups known as Task Forces.
Vast and dynamic environments
Get an even greater sense of spectacular, large-scale war on seven massive maps - crafted through a revamped design philosophy.
Each battlefield has multiple distinct combat areas housed in a single playspace, and this extra space means more variety and more meaningful vehicle gameplay - tanks have more space to roam, fighter jets have more airspace to maneuver.
Cutting-edge arsenal
Unleash your combat creativity through a full roster of cutting-edge weapons, vehicles, jets, helis, and all-new equipment inspired by the near-future of 2042.
Specialists
Choose your role on the battlefield and form hand-tailored squads through the new Specialist system. Based on Battlefield's four Classes, Specialists have one unique Specialty and Trait - but the rest of the loadout is fully customizable.
New seasons, new content
Themed around new narratives, Seasons will bring content such as Specialist soldiers, locations, weapons, and vehicles.
Up to 128 simultaneous players**
For the first time in Battlefield's history, 128 players can join the all-out war at the same time.

Pass On This One (at least for now)
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I originally preordered so I could get into the beta, then cancelled my preorder after being pretty underwhelmed by the beta. Unfortunately I preordered again for early access and because I typically like Battlefield, but that was definitely a mistake. Maps are giant, barren, and boring. For some reason the SMGs are better at long range than ARs. Menus are clunky and clumsy to get through on consoles. If you turn off crossplay so you're not getting zapped by PC players from 50 meters away, you'll have to wait longer to find a match since most people will have crossplay on by default. They've done away with the class system that pretty much every other BF game has had, so now snipers can have rocket launchers, medics can have ammo bags, etc. The game includes BF 1942, BF3, and Bad Company 2, so if you feel like paying $90 for those +10 year old games, have at it. Otherwise I'd stay away, at least for now, if not forever. Just stick with BF V, BF 1, the old games will still have players since this one is a disappointment.

What were they thinking?
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. My beloved Battlefield has jumped the shark.I have played since the original release of 1942 and this game plays like a bad clone of Battlefield. It seems like they were going in the direction of a BR game think Fortnite and at the last minute tried to switch directions. They have goofy cartoony characters with cringe worthy catch phrases. No traditional scoreboard I guess so everyone feels like a winner. At the end of a round you are put back in the find a game screen so forget about playing on the same team or picking the map you want to play because you may be put on the same map multiple times. The guns are garbage I could get the drop on someone only to have them turn around and instantly kill me.I do not believe any patch can fix this one and if this is the direction the game is going this will be my last Battlefield.

Not Battlefield Quality.
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This game is not up to par with other battlefield games, it can be fun at times but the graphics and controls are unacceptable. No wonder they kept pushing back the release date.

Not a good BF game
||Posted .Owned for 3 months when reviewed. The game lacks of many feature from BF1 and BF5. Need to have unique specialist for each side, lack of customization in Combat gears, guns, etc..... Maps are ok, need more map.

Broken game. Do not buy on console
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Terrible game. I've been a long time Battlefield fan but this game is broken. Very disappointed with game developers and this stores return policy on digital purchases. Thanks to the no refund policy I am stuck with a $100 game that is completely unplayable. This game also puts console players up against PC users with no noticable aim assist or mouse/keyboard support. This makes it a completely unenjoyable experience. The bugs in this game are many and very visible! I have been ripped off by this purchase

Massive Disappointment
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I bought this game a week early because I was skeptical of some of the mixed reviews I have seen online. Let me tell you: this. game. does. not. play. well. It seems like I am getting 20 FPS on my Xbox One X, with textures that look as geometric as Battlefield Bad Company (or maybe even worse). I wouldn't buy this game again, even if it was $15. The menu is impossible to navigate, the UI is atrocious, and there are more glitches in every game than there are fun moments.

Q: QuestionWhy is there not a gold edition for PS5? only Standard edition is listed on BB site.
Asked by Twin.
- A:Answer PlayStation no longer allows 3rd party vendors to sell digital copies of PlayStation games. If you want a digital copy you have to buy it from PSN. The Gold Edition is digital only.
Answered by Ratedmoney
Q: QuestionHas anyone else not received their early beta access code yet for the Gold Edition? I see it as a bonus option when you look at the normal edition but not gold.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer nothing yet either, this is trash

Q: QuestionWill the "Irish" veteran Specialist, be downloaded with the game at launch or as a separate code?
Asked by TheLadiesMan.
Q: QuestionIs this going to be a physical disc? I'm confused because it comes with the Steelbook so is the game a digital download or physical?
Asked by Lukeadtr.
- A:Answer Not with this edition, no. All preorders come with a free steelbook but only the standard edition comes as a hard copy with a disc to put in it. The gold and ultimate editions are digital-only so if you preorder either of them you'll have an empty steelbook, for what that's worth.
