Office Printer Supreme
Posted .Brother did sooo well with the HL-L3270 (minus choosing a name but I’ll forgive it). This printer outdoes any office printer I’ve come across in my life. So my main office just got upgraded to some compact multi task printer but this Brother printer brings quality and speed home (literally). Bells and whistles here are worth your time and learning them. I am able to sit on my couch and work while printing at the same time. There’s the ability to AirPrint, print double sided, print like 30 pages in under a minute or something. As you can see I attached a picture of a photo I just took in Mexico on a trip and the water and waves look super pristine. If you appreciate efficiency and simplicity then this printer is for you. Overall a printer that came to play and brings it’s A-Game!

Great printer!
Posted .Pros mentioned:Print quality, Set upCons mentioned:BulkyFor this review, I'll start off with the cons. If you are looking for a 3 in 1 printer, look away. This is a printer and nothing else. Another thing, it's bulky and heavy. Another thing, the toner cartridges are expensive, but you will get many prints before needing to buy more. On to the pros. The print quality is amazing on the Brother - HL-L3270CDW. Prior to getting my hands on this machine, I was using a similar model at my job. I used it on a daily basis and never had any problems. Brother printers are truly quality machines, so I expect to get lots of use out of this Brother - HL-L3270CDW for a long time. It's hard to go wrong with it. One of the best features in this machine is the ability to connect to multiple cloud services and print directly to the printer. It makes it so much easier to get the documents that I need for school and work now. I can email prints to the printer, and if I want to keep something private, you can setup a pin option for confidential documents. As for the setup, it was a breeze! I had the Brother - HL-L3270CDW printer up and running in around 20 minutes, that includes linking my cloud services and connecting the printer to my wifi network. So far, I have had no connectivity issues. I'd say what took the longest was the fact that you have to take out the toner cartridges to remove a plastic protector from them. It looked intimidating at first, but it's just a matter of pushing tabs to a side and pulling the cartridges out. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Brother - HL-L3270CDW to anyone in the market for their office, or even professional students in need of a reliable printer.

Not meant for engineering drawings
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I have been conned by this $250 printer! Since working from home due to covid I needed a printer for engineering drawings to either take to the field and Mark-up on the fly. All my CAD drawings are converted to PDF to which I print. The pages are of a white background with black outlines. That’s it! Yet the black ink seems to smear over the entire page making the entire paper look almost hue/gray and text unreadable. In addition when printing photos I’ve taken from the field, the colors are not sharp. They appear washed out. This is of course the ink that it came with but it would be in Brothers best interest to supply ink that represents their quality too, right? An because of Best Buy’s 15 day return policy and restocking fee I’m left to deal with Brothers directly. What a waste of my time!

Reliable & Efficient Printer
Posted .Pros mentioned:Print quality, Set upThis a quality printer and it easily handles most any home office print job. My wife is a teacher and this fits our needs much better than the inefficient inkjet it replaced. Pros - Wireless printing. My iPhone found it on the network and I could print immediately. It also has no issue with my mesh network (TP-Link Deco). - Easy setup. I never had to pull out the included CD. On my Windows 10 laptop, it appeared in the printers list after a refresh and when selected it setup automatically. I love that this works as it should. - Printing via email and the cloud when not at home is convenient (see caution below). - Much quieter than you would think. - Cost efficient Things to consider - It is heavy and a little bigger than the average light duty home printer - Warm up (all laser printers due this) takes a few seconds and can delay printing if it has been idle for a while. - It uses some power when printing, especially on warm up. Just make sure you don’t have it plugged in to the same circuit as a bunch of other stuff. - When printing from the printer’s cloud options the file selected from the cloud or email prints how it came – no option to switch to black and white is given, no editing/resizing can be done on screen. - The touch screen is just ok. The menus are a bit dated looking, it is not sharp, and the sensitivity could be better. You really don’t use it that much once it is set up so it is a minor issue. This is a keeper.

Poor print quality
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5I bought this printer for craft purposes, but I was really disappointed with the quality of the prints from this printer. I enclosed a picture below of how it prints. The first is the Brother 3270 laser, the second is my ink jet Epson, which was one of the most cheapest models. Big difference!

Excellent Entry Level Color Laser Printer
Posted .Pros mentioned:Color, Price, Print qualityCons mentioned:InstructionsI would recommend this to a friendWhether you are looking for a great home printer or something to fill a need in your small office, the Brother LC3270 is a great option. Out of the box, the LC3270 is certainly a sturdy and well built printer. It. Is. Not. Light! (40lbs+) Do not mistake this for some portable option just because it is wireless. This is could be used as an anchor for the Titanic and is meant to be placed somewhere and left. That's where the wireless function comes into place. But more on that later. After I contracted a crane to get it out of the box and onto my desk, it takes up about the same space as most office-grade laser printers. Lasers have gotten smaller over the years, but it'll still take up a decent amount of real estate on your desk or wherever you decide to place it. Since it is wireless, it would make a great centralized printer to serve multiple people in an office which is a huge cost saver over every person having a local printer that only they can use. Once hoisted out of the box, setup was a breeze using the touch screen interface. I was up and connected to my wireless network in under 5 minutes. From there I could easily and automatically use AirPrint from my iPhone or select it as a printer option from my Dell laptop. Print quality was excellent as you would expect from a laser printer. Colors were crisp and clear. It prints graphs, charts, maps, and other graphics that you could take to any meeting and look professional. Pictures are decent, but this laser printer isn't designed for photos so keep that in mind. That being said, you can still print full page pictures and they look nice. You just won't be framing any of them. As with most color laser printers, they come with a black toner cartridge and 3 color cartridges which can be ordered separately. Having used color laser printers in my day job over the years, I would HIGHLY recommend anyone on a budget to adjust your print settings so that your default print setting isn't color. ESPECIALLY if this printer is shared with a group of people. It's amazing the things people print out in full color that are a complete waste and totally unnecessary. An example would be emails that get printed with things like hyperlinks any logos in your signature in color. It may not seem like much, but a few hundred emails with a logo can drain one or more of your color cartridges and they are not cheap to replace. This isn't specific to the L3270, but just some helpful advice. Just to give you an idea, replacing the color cartridges alone will cost you more than the printer itself. The paper feed has a 250-sheet capacity which is nice and should keep you from having to refill too often. One lacking feature is the manual feed for envelopes and other odd-sized pieces. These have to be fed one at a time which is shame. If you have a business, you are likely wanting to print more than one envelope at a time. In conclusion, I think that the Brother L3270 is an excellent entry level color laser printer. I think it's especially nice if you only have need for occasional (but higher quality) color printing where an inkjet might dry up or not provide the quality that you desire. Pros: *Cost *Build Quality *Print Quality *Wireless functionality *Setup Cons: *Weight *Size *Cost of toner replacement

The solution for expensive color inkjet printers
Posted .Pros mentioned:Color, Price, Print qualityI would recommend this to a friendI love this printer! Is it weird to feel that way about an inanimate object? I’m a customer of Brother products from way back… Long before there were inkjet and laser printers there were these things called “typewriters”! I had one of those, and it was made by Brother. And I still have it! I haven’t turned it on in years, but I bet it works! Sadly there’s no reason for me to use it, and god only knows if the ribbon cartridge is available anymore. Anyway the point is that Brother makes quality products, and HL-L3270CDW keeps up their reputation. It’s a terrific product! Setup can be a challenge for the non-techie, and I would recommend utilizing Best Buy’s Geek Squad to install this for you. Particularly if you have a small business, it’s worth every penny to have them take care of the installation for you. This is a feature-rich color laser printer with tons of features. If you want to tap into all its capabilities, and you yourself are not a geek - seriously pay to have someone install this for you. Thankfully I’m a nerd and installation was a little bit of a challenge and quite fun to be honest. But that’s just me. The HL-L3270CDW has a small footprint; it fits neatly on the desk I set it on. It is unobtrusive and is a professional, quality looking unit. It’s sturdy, the plastics don’t look cheap, the LCD panel adjusts in angle, and is bright and easy to read. The paper tray is deep and holds 250 sheets of paper. The color cartridges and the mechanism they are inserted into are extremely well engineered. I am impressed by the engineering that went into this machine! Why do I love this printer? Because it does what it was made to do - awesomely! The efficient LED printer mechanism does a great job! The print output is excellent! Whether I was printing black only print, or dazzling color graphics - the end result was crisp, clean and vibrant. I printed everything from typical text only documents, to calendars, to birthday cards to envelops! It took them all on, and did a great job every time! I have no complaints on the performance at all. I replaced an HP inkjet printer with the HL-L3270CDW, and I’m so glad I did. While the HP had nice output, it was super slow and super expensive replacing the ink cartridges. In comparison the Brother is a breath of fresh air! It’s like having a professional office printer in your home or home office. True when you have to replace the individual cartridges they’ll be expensive. But the time in between changes is substantial, at least for the amount that I print. In the long run this is a much more economical solution. There are a multitude of mobile connectivity options, if you have a device that can transmit data over some type of stream - this printer will probably accept and understand it. But I recommend visiting Brother’s website first to make sure your devices are compatible. I had not problem printing from any device on my network, as well as directly from my mobile smart devices. The built-in LCD panel is a bit small at 2.7 inches. At my age my eyesight doesn’t do well with small fonts, thus I see nothing but fuzz on the screen unless I’m wearing a pair of readers. But if you have good and young eyes - the screen has good resolution. It’s also a touchscreen, which is nice except if you have big sausage sized fingers like me. I have to aim precisely if I want to use the small LCD. Fortunately I don’t need to use it under normal circumstances. I recommend the HL-L3270CDW LED printer, it’s a terrific value! I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to anyone that wants to save money in the long run printing in color. This is the perfect remedy for expensive inkjet printers and cartridges. It’s fast, it’s quiet and the quality of print is exceptional. I love it! I'll bet you will too!

Q: QuestionDoes the toner go bad if you don't print often? I very rarely print color, and I am sick of my brother inkjet ink drying up between printings. Will this address that problem?
Asked by Todd.
- A:Answer No. Laser printer toner is a powder, and will not go bad. I chose a laser printer for this reason. If you print once a day, once a week or once a month, it doesn't matter.
