A: Hello, Thank you for contacting us. We request you to follow the below steps to resolve the issue nsure the customer is using a Crucial SSD, MX100 model or newer. Older Crucial models do not satisfy the copy protection built into Acronis, requiring us to supply the workaround tool below to use this software. -Ensure SSD is connected while launching Acronis for Crucial. -Verify the SSD is detected in Device Manager and/or Disk Management in Windows (Initializing the SSD for first use in Disk Management may help). -If the message still appears in spite of troubleshooting, close down Acronis and then download and run the patch file available at the following link, then retry launching Acronis software.: https://download.acronis.com/oem/Micron/AcronisTrueImageMicron_workaround.exe -If this message persists, uninstall all Acronis products including any older versions of Acronis, then check for and delete any Acronis subfolders from Windows 'Program Files' folder, then reinstall Acronis. If you have any questions, we welcome your reply. Have a beautiful day & stay safe! Regards, SS
A: Thank you for contacting us and for your question. If you are planning on just installing a fresh copy of Windows to the new Crucial SSD then you will not need any additional adapters or install kits as you will simply remove the old HDD, and replace it with the new Crucial SSD before booting to your Windows install media. If you are planning on cloning everything from the old drive over to the new Crucial SSD, you will most likely want to purchase a SATA to USB cable so that you can connect the new SSD external through USB while everything from the old drive is copied over. All Crucial drives come with a free copy of Acronis true image cloning software but you would need to purchase a sata to usb cable separate. Once the clone has been completed, you can then simply install the new SSD and the system should boot right back up.
