Q: What is the overall size

A: The dimensions are 23 5/8''W x 25.6875''D x 58 3/4''H.

Q: Can it be kept in a hot garage?

A: It will work okay outside, but if it is 110 degrees and sitting in the sun, it might not keep things frozen.

Q: What are the dimensions of the shelves, L x W?

A: W - 17" x D - 15.5". I found this answer elsewhere online but have not had the opportunity to verify in person as the store does not have this freezer on display. I am surprised the maker just doesn't list it as a matter of course.

Q: On the 8.5 Danny freezer upright - how often to defrost? Do you need to put the food in another freezer to defrost this one ?

A: Hello Dan, we recommend to complete defrosting and cleaning the unit at least once a year, or when frost has built up to about 1/4’(6mm) thickness. In high humidity areas, a freezer may need more frequent defrosting and cleaning. In regards to the food, you can remove all frozen food and wrap it in several layers of newspaper and cover with a blanket: food will stay frozen for several hours. OR Store frozen food in a cooler, additional refrigerator-freezer or in a cool area.

Q: When you do a complete defrost, does the freezer leak water all over the place? Do you need to move the freezer outside to defrost? Is there a drains for this freezer?

A: Hello Sc, the water when you unplug the unit will be located on the bottom of the unit. You can use towels if you do not want to move the unit outdoors, only while the unit is plugged and the compressor is working the excess of water will be transferred to the back on top of the compressor to be evaporated.

Q: Freezer in garage

A: Yes, it can be kept in a garage.
