    PRODUCT CONTINUALLY FAILS

    I purchased this system in 2017. Within a month, the DVR was not recording images from one of the cameras. I called Defender and the technician seemed to get it operational again. Then I had a breakin at my home and the DVR failed completely - SO NO IMAGES TO GIVE THE POLICE. I called Defender again, and they sent me another DVR. When it arrived (it took 8 days to get to me), IT WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. Called Defender again and the technicians could not get it to work either. When the technician checked their records, I was NOT sent a new DVR, they sent me a USED DVR from their office. This DVR's memory was completely full and the technician could not erase it. So no one at Defender checked to see if the DVR was operational prior to shipping it to me. STAY AWAY FROM DEFENDER SYSTEMS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM TO ANYONE. VERY, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    I am glad I purchased this product. Installation was relatively easy when using the step by step videos at Defender-usa.com (one small installation basics page was included in the package, but definitely not enough information). All needed cords were included. Camera power cords were surprisingly long enough, but ethernet and HDMI cords for the DVR were barely long enough especially for a wall mounted TV. Account set up on the TV was simple, but online, not simple. The main difficulty was Defender does NOT support the Google Chrome browser. This is all I use and very annoying the tech department hasn't worked this out yet. I've uploaded the mobile app and it seems to work well, but trying to login using safari (which is supported) on a mobile device does not work at all. I've reported this, so hopefully the company will correct it quickly. All in all, we are happy with the camera system and would recommend it to any business or residence.

    Tried and returned 2 other brand's similar 4-camera wireless systems. Found Defender's offered best afterdark image quality. Daylight images were sharp with vivid natural color. Overall, system was easy to setup and use, if you have electrical receptacles near where you want to place your cameras. Only detractor was I could not view recordings via the Internet using a HP Stream 7 tablet with Win10 OS. I suspect the tablet was unable to handle a 1080p resolution video stream (my guess). Experienced the same issue with my Lorex system. Remote viewing would be nice, but not that important for my purposes.

    You can not connect to the system outside of your WiFi so therefore you can’t see your cameras when you’re away from your home. Talked to Defender customer service and they have no answer for you. Don’t waste your time or money on this product

    if your camera is going to be located more than 8 feet from your power outlet, I would not recommend this system. The vendor does not offer extensions for the power supply. Their response when I inquired was 'use an extension cord'.

    Did a lot of research before I purchased the Defender Wireless HD 1080p 4 Channel . You have to have the cameras close to pair or they will not ! Than I plugged them in they worked great .
