I set up and used a few of these machines for various people. When My wife's older PC died, I decided to replace it with this refurbished product. One interest was to learn Windows 8.1 but the unit came with Window 7 Home installed.
Calls to Best Buy customer support only resulted in them acknowledging the error in advertising. The bottom line...if I did not want the unit as it was, then return it. They were not going to make good on the Windows 8.1.
It was not a deal killer since my wife knows Win 7 and teaching her Win 8.1 would have been a challenge.

The computer was a decent win8 model--not too large, good selection of video ports, and I was pleased with it for 6 months as an HTPC (television computer). But when it started failing to boot (irregularly), I experienced difficulty with Dell in trying to get it repaired. I am going to give up and go buy a PC from another vendor. Granted, a four hundred dollar computer isn't big bucks, but I would have liked more than 6 months of service from it. I will not buy a Dell in the future. Worst, Bestbuy did not give me reward zone points for this purchase, and I did not notice until recently when I went looking for the exact purchase date. So this computer was a failure for me, all the way around.
A:AnswerA basic machine but more than adequate to do no-graphics intensive home applications (email, internet, word processing, etc). I would not buy it for gaming or video editing but it may be okay for online video streaming.
For your monitor, it has a VGA and a HDMI adapter. No printer port, however, so make sure your printer uses either USB or is wireless. There should be printer drivers available for the Win 7.
A:AnswerHello.
The graphics in this machine is integrated into the processor, whilst not being very powerful it can play some older games. But definitely not many (if any) new ones. As well as having some major problems with openGL.
The processor here is also VERY weak. Single core (multithreading makes the computer think it is two, don't be fooled it is really one) even if there was a graphics card in it, the processor would hold back any potential it has.
TL;DR?
NO this computer would not be able to play ANY new games. But most retro ones.
This should only be bought for word processing in my opinion.
I have recommended a product you should buy for any low intensity gaming purposes. It can run most games that are pre 2012 at medium settings.
