A great modern retelling of the Dickens classic!
I probably have just about every video incarnation of this story. Until this movie, my favorites were the 1951 B&W version starring Alistair Sim, and the Lifetime channel version "Ebby", which had Susan Lucci in the role of Scrooge.
As usual, Disney works it's 'magic' to make a movie that has mass-audience appeal, while still striving to stay true to Dickens' original story. And I have to say that Disney Animation Studios can definitely give Pixar a run for its money.
There was a 3-disc set available, with the third disk being the 3D version of the movie, but I really didn't need it.
This is actually a replacement as my previous DVD was scratched.
Of all the renditions of A Christmas Carol- this is my favorite.
I found the movie to be captivating, well-edited and true to the storyline. Jim Carrey does a marvelous job playing the various characters as did the other actors. This is def my go-to movie not just for Xmas but throughout the year.
