Q: The spec states a maximum window height of 40 inches. Mine is 44 5/16. Can it still be installed?
A: yes..... the device is about 22 inches high so you will need a spacer to cover the rest of the window.. they give you a frame and a spacer and i had plenty of material..at the very worst you would have to build a new spacer to cover a bigger window they provide a spacer it's corrugated white plastic like those politcial yard signs...but you may want to go to the hardware store and get a piece of clear lexan or plexiglass to let light in if that's important. the fully extended frame may only extend 40 inches but you can use any number of items to make up the difference for the bottom 4 inch gap...(wood is easy to cut and shape and paint?)
A: the frame you get extends about 1 and a half inches on either side......so you may have to modify it or build your own frame/spacer if you are somewhat handy
A: if you want to to use the frame they give you you would need that "extra space" but in a 14.5 window it would just fit .....so to seal the edges i would use aluminum tape to make it air tight..i would go for it.
