- A: AnswerYou are absolutely correct Gigabyte X670 AORUS ELITE AX (Socket AM5) the top PCIe x16 slot is a PCIe 4.0 slot. But I doubt it really matters AMD has confirmed that its next-gen Radeon RX 7000 series "RDNA 3" graphics card will NOT be using the new PCIe Gen5 "12VHPWR" power connector... which is something we kinda knew already, but now 100% confirmed from AMD themselves. Oct 25, 2022 and Nvidia 4000 series GPU's only support PCIe 4.0 So no matter what you see listed Keep in mind there must be a 6 pin power connector on a Motherboard that will be strictly for powering PCIe Gen 5.0 GPU's or any other Gen 5.0 devices. Bottom line = "Forget About It at least for the next 2 generations or about 4 to 5 years for GPU's

Give it a chance and it should work!
Like others I had about given up on this Motherboard because I was having similar issues with it not posting (despite using the proper Memory slots per the MB manual). Then when it did post, it kept rebooting in an endless loop. Tried different memory brands, the whole nine yards to rule all issues out. Long story short, it ended up being the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processor (which was bought with this bundle) that was the culprit for the endless restarts. Replaced it with the same model processor and BAM! Everything worked as it should, posted perfectly. I'm now enjoying Battlefield 2042 on it! Give it a chance! Rule all potential other issues before giving up on it.
